Royal clothing!

I wonder where clothes they longer wear go they can't keep them all !!

I am extremely proud to live in a country with a Royal Family

I think both The Duchesses look extremely elegant, whether they are on royal duties or "snapped" informally.

If they can afford to wear the expensive clothes then good luck to them.
Me,can’t even afford the charity shop prices so wait for my daughters to pass down the clothes apart from shoes,they are all size 5 while I am 1 1/2-2

I'm not interested in what the clothes cost and find it intensely irritating that the media seems obsessed with stirring up controversy on the subject.
I want our royal family to look wonderful when out on Royal engagements. I love both Kate and Meghan's style though for me Meghan leads with her sense of style. She seems to gave quashed those Royal traditions of only wearing black for funerals, covered shoulders for daywear ( though I saw a picture of the queen as a young woman in a sleeveless dress) trousers for official duties and so on.
The queen always looks fantastic but as she always wears the same outfit in a variety of bright colours we wouldn't know whether she'd worn the same dress, coat, hat before or not.
Princess Anne is famous for wearing the same dress twenty years later, good on her!
So can we please stop carping about the royals, I believe we're lucky to have them, and so do many other countries who either got rid of theirs or never had a royal family.

A bit off tangent here but it might be interesting to watch Fashion's Dirty Secrets on BBC1 on Monday night with Stacey Dooley to see some of the real costs of today's cheap 'throw away' fashions.

I've always believed in paying a fair price for the best quality I could afford as clothing usually washes & wears better. At times that meant local jumble sale/charity shop finds for me (while the money went on DCs' school uniform basics) and, when things got a little easier, being able to afford better - usually good hardwearing brands bought at sale time. Don't let that fool you into thinking that I'm a dull dresser though, I love colour and putting outfits together and have an eclectic mix of clothing - even some of those early jumble sale finds!!

I always try to count the cost of clothes in price per wearing and because of that my 'best I could afford at the time' garments have usually been real bargains. There's no saving in buying a cheap garment that looks like a dish rag once its been washed.

It will be interesting to see what Stacey finds out and which high street retailers she names!

Don't care what they wear or how much things cost. Whatever they wear will be criticised by some people so they can't win - not that I'm a royalist by any means. Must say if I had lots of money then I'd wear expensive clothes too - I haven't so I don't!

How do you know Kate won’t see any of her parents’ money until they die? They may well give her a generous allowance, not unusual among rich families.

We have to remember that them spending thousands of pounds on clothes isn't anything to them. Its just the same as me spending my money in primark. It doesn't matter how much they spend on clothes as they have an unlimited amount of money.

Lizzyflip, I agree that Meghan is wealthy in her own right but Kate didn't really work before marrying William. Her parents may be wealthy but she won't see any of it until they die.

The less I hear about the royals and their extravagant tax payer subsided lifestyles the better. I wish them no harm but wish they'd do the decent thing and go away.

Personally I think there are much more important things to get annoyed about. Some people must have to much time on their hands.

Why should we concern ourselves with what they wear, how much it cost or who made it? What business is it of ours? You might like to know that I live mostly in Asda jeggins, Sainsbury’s leggings, Tesco tee shirts, Marks and Spencer’s underwear and shoes by that high end and well known maker of the most comfortable foot wear ever - Crocs. I also, from time to time, shop in the local Hospice shop. So there!

Where did you hear that from ? She is one of the wealthiest people in the world .

Kate seems to mix high end with high street and looks the part and most of her clothes seem to be British or a nod to a country they are visiting Meghan looks immaculate but a bit to corporate for me but hopefully However I think Camilla is the worst dressed of the lot of them and she spends a fortune on hair clothes Tec. Go anywhere to any event in this country and most woman of her age look a thousands times better spending a fraction of what she spends. Whenever she is on tv my grandchildren always laugh at her flying saucer hats.

Meghan & Kate are wealthy in their own right. They can spend their own money on what they want. They've earned it. Good luck to them I say.

I think Megan’s warbrobe will get a lot of press coverage, she and Harry will be doing ‘the world’ , William and Kate the U.K. harry has always enjoyed travelling and in the programme ‘Queen of the World, much was said by Megan of the commonwealth countries included in her veil.

I think they will be commonwealth ambassadors whilst William and Kate will prepare for their future roles .

Reminds me it was said of queenie and Margaret, thank God Elizabeth was born first. William is not a camera hugger, like his father and grandmother duty will come first.

Well they've got to look good. No creasing after sitting down. Then of course when they wear an outfit it helps the fashion industry because women want to buy the same outfit or a close copy.

We only know what these garments cost, because the media tells us at every opportunity. "Meghan wore a £5,000 Givenchy dress to the function". I'm sure this never used to happen in the past. I Often see a little box at the bottom of the article with details of "how to purchase this dress" details. That's what I get annoyed about !

Re your post - no I couldn't care less what rich people spend on their clothes, they are all rolling in money so why not ?

I guess few of us on here could say they had the massive wealth that royals, aristos & celebs have. I don't particularly care what any of them wear as long as not recent fur. I live a comfortable ( for my expectations!) and contented life so not jealous of wealth. I would however prefer that the gap between mega wealthy and those in great poverty was a lot narrower. i.e. that the extremes were less extreme!

Diana left £10m to each of her sons to be invested until they attained their 30th birthdays.
Obviously, Harry's share was invested for longer. The boys also inherited from the Queen Mum.

I think quizqueen William and Harry inherited the same from their mother, it was the queen mother who left a larger amount to Harry.

Please do not include me in the "all" cakebaker.Clothes are very low down on my list of priorities. I could afford better ones but don't see the point. And I wear the same things over and over again but I would still say I am interested in how I look.
