Good Morning Everyone,
Its still dark here in Brackley , with signs of a light frost during the night.
My usual day out as such to Buckingham , then Bicester and back to Buckingham .
Its interesting with very few buses to Buckingham ,and to use the X5 to Bicester as well , I have something like nearly 2 hours for my bus home , then its gets full with school kids
Mick

Good Morning to you all!
Enjoying a steaming cup of strong, black coffee. The only coffee of the day. Blinds still drawn.

Marydoll Thu 04-Oct-18 07:01:49

Good morning, Mick , ffinnochio and all who follow. It's still dark here in Glasgow, but I do know we are in for a day of rain.
Off to the transport Museum, as we have DDG today.
I hope today is better than yesterday, I had a flooded kitchen and the there was a flash and a loud bang from the socket as I unplugged the iron. It give me a bit of a "shock"! ?
Have a good day everyone.

MawBroon Thu 04-Oct-18 07:04:51

Good morning from a very dark corner of N Bucks!
I was the last to post yesterday blush so didn’t actually get any response to my exciting news about DGS (8), perhaps no one read it, or perhaps I am the only person to think it is rather a big deal grin

Feeling a bit washed out after a surprise visit to Birmingham yesterday to have coffee and lunch with DD and then collect the boys from school. Took DGS1 to his ballet class at the Hippodrome before I got the train home.
Exciting to be backstage at the Hippodrome but as nothing compared with my excitement and granny pride that he has been chosen to dance in the Royal Ballet “Nutcracker” this Christmas
Anyway, yet another trip today to the GP to see if any more can be done about my shoulder, then lunch with friends, before baking for tonight’s Thursday group meeting at which we are hosting a group from a neighbouring village. Not that any of the ladies are competitive.......

Marydoll Thu 04-Oct-18 07:08:07

Now wonder you are a feeling proud, Maw. What a wonderful achievement. smile.
I do hope you get some relief from your shoulder, constant pain is so debilitating. ?

gillybob Thu 04-Oct-18 07:13:40

Good morning everyone.

Sorry I didn’t see you amazing news yesterday MawBroon I bet you are bursting with pride. What an achievement ! He must be very special indeed . smile

kittylester Thu 04-Oct-18 07:15:19

Morning all.

North Leicestershire is bright and warmish. There was a fabulous sunset on my way home from Derby yesterday which I might have enjoyed more had it not been right in my mirrors.

Happy, proud granny maw.

Sainsbury's shop this morning with DD3 (39 weeks and 2 days pregnant) - I just wish she'd stay at home!!!

Blue45Sapphire Thu 04-Oct-18 07:26:02

Good morning all from a very grey Northampton. Bit milder today, I haven't had to put the heating on this morning. Mawbroon what exciting news about your grandson, what an honour, you must be feeling so proud! I hope you have got your ticket! My eldest grand-daughter aged 10 is in professional panto again this year for the third year running, just the local one in Northampton. but to be dancing in 'Nutcracker' is in another league! Sainsbury's are delivering my weekly shop this morning, then I'm off out for lunch with a very friendly group. Had a good 'health walk' yesterday, and have a good 20 minutes walk this morning to get the bus.

cornergran Thu 04-Oct-18 07:30:48

Morning Mick, morning All. Misty murky this morning, decent day to come I think. Off shopping with friends, should be fun, more chatting and coffee than shopping. No wonder you’re proud maw, huge achievement. Sorry about your flood marydoll, hope you’re dry now. Stay away from sockets if not. At least you’ll be with your daughter kitty, what can go wrong hmm. Wishing you all a good Friday.

Alygran Thu 04-Oct-18 07:37:25

Good morning. Looks like we had a shower overnight here in a North Yorkshire.
Off to Harrogate today to meet other grans. Hope I don’t get lost finding a car park.
Maw what fab news. Be very proud!
Hope everyone has a good day.

Brunette10 Thu 04-Oct-18 07:38:49

Morning everyone, quite a bright start here today in Fife. Wow Mawbroon you have every right to feel proud - what an achievement., well done him. Marydoll what a pain having all that trouble, hopefully it's all cleared up now. I know exactly what you mean Kittylester DD is due tomorrow and she and two other families are going out for tea! Is it just me! Anyway another day and lets hope it's a good one for all.

NanKate Thu 04-Oct-18 07:44:26

Morning Kitty and All.

Dull and grey in South Bucks.

How exciting for your DGS being chosen for the Nutcracker. The last time I was in the Birmingham Hippodrome must have been with my family in the 1950s as my sister wanted to see the singer Slim Whitman, not my scene being more of an Elvis fan but still fun to be at the theatre. I wonder how many performances you will attend Maw.

Fingers crossed Kitty for the latest safe arrival of your clan.

Hope you are ok Mary after your shock.

oldgoat Thu 04-Oct-18 07:46:02

Morning all.
Sorry, I can't stop. I'm in total panic mode this morning. Too much to do and too little time.
Hope you all have a good day.
Must dash.
Help!!!

harrigran Thu 04-Oct-18 07:48:22

Good morning, nice and bright here in the NE.
Off to the GPs shortly, had blood test last week and I have been asked to return to discuss the findings. I must take a book because it will be hours of sitting in the waiting room.
Lovely news Maw.

Pittcity Thu 04-Oct-18 07:59:29

Good morning from sunny Colchester. Misty and damp but beginning to burn off. Looks like it's going to be a nice day. We are in charge of a 3 year old terror today so will be out in the park!

Greyduster Thu 04-Oct-18 08:13:19

Good morning, Michael and all GNs. Grey in South Yorkshire this morning. I think I am mobile enough to do some shopping this morning, or we won’t eat! Not quite true; DH does shop, but he only comes back with biscuits. Or sausage rolls. Or toilet cleaner. School run later. Have a good day folks.

ginny Thu 04-Oct-18 08:19:46

Good morning all. Weather is just nondescript at the moment.
Was up early to get toDd3s to look after DGS for the day.
How lovely for your DGS Maw.

Gagagran Thu 04-Oct-18 08:19:55

Morning all! Late here this morning as we have been to the supermarket for our usual early weekly shop.

It's a misty, moisty mild morning here on the south coast. Everywhere is dripping!

Congratulations Maw - what an achievement by your DGS. Don't grandchildren bring us such joy? Love 'em!

Fred the decorator came last night and is coming to do the hall and stairs on 3 December so I am keeping the momentum of home improvements going before DH has time to consider objections! (He did venture "Looks alright to me").

Hope there is some baby news before too much longer for expectant Mums and Grans! Hate to say it but I was 12 days late with both mine. wink

Have a good day folks! sunshine

Anniebach Thu 04-Oct-18 08:42:10

Good morning Auntyflo and all x

Hope everyone has a good day.

Auntieflo Thu 04-Oct-18 08:45:21

Goodmorning Mick, Annie to come and all who come later. A grey start to the day here, but dry at the moment. I am deciding whether to stay in and be 'busy' or go out with a friend and 'chat'. Hmmm.
OldGoat I hope whatever is panicking you goes away and you can calm down.
Marydoll glad you are safe after your shock in the kitchen.
Good luck to all expectant Grans.
Have a good day one and all.

Willow10 Thu 04-Oct-18 08:57:14

Good morning all. Grey but mild in East Northants. Enjoy your day everyone.

GrannyGravy13 Thu 04-Oct-18 08:59:47

Good morning from a foggy SE Essex x

I am laying in bed whilst Husband makes tea for the builders. Popping down the road later to waste some time as I cannot do any housework.

???? for your GS Maw

Kitty your DD is probably feeling "antsy" and just wants to keep occupied, I know mine just wanted to be doing something rather than sitting waiting. How exciting!!!

Wishing you all a hassle free day.

silverlining48 Thu 04-Oct-18 09:19:00

Morning all, brightening up now here in kent. Still in bed following unexpected ga operation yesterday. Told i need dressing to be changed every day at my surgery, but my surgery says no can do, so where do i go from here. Didnt sleep through worry.

Mapleleaf Thu 04-Oct-18 09:47:09

Good morning,
Fairly dull but fine here at the moment.
No wonder you feel so pleased Maw - what a fantastic achievement your GS has made. ?
Hope your flood is all sorted now, Marydoll. Water and electricity don't mix - it must have been quite frightening!
Enjoy your day, everyone. ?

Willow10 Thu 04-Oct-18 10:24:25

Silverlining - can you change the dressing yourself, or is there someone that would do it for you? I had to change my own hip replacement dressing and inject myself in the stomach for 28 days because there is just no help from gp surgeries any more. You are turned out of hospital and just left to get on with it now - so sad. Just as well there is lots of money set aside for HS2 - how on earth would we manage without that? angry
