Do you have stuff in your house which doesn’t belong to you?

Ice cubes in our 'spare' freezer.
Our next door neighbour is always having inpromptu parties (we are invited) but she doesn't have room in her freezer.

In our garage: two camping chairs, a cool box, a tent, bags of charcoal and kindling, a new suitcase in a box, ( replacement for one damaged at airport), etc.etc.
DD has no room in her flat, according to her.

We also have DD's coffee maker as DH's packed up and she kindly lent us hers until we buy a replacement.. We are reluctant to return it.?

My dd's wedding dress which has been hanging up in my dining room for almost three years. Luckily, she's just moved to a much bigger house so her dress will be rehomed with her soon!

Basically My entire loft space, plus some .

I have three children s surpluses 2 grandkids outgrown toys Still things from Mum and Dads house that I don’t know what to do with plus a big pile of old records and sheet music from my grandad

I have 2 x tiny bridemaids dresses from 8 yrs ago when DD1 got married & DD2s daughters were the flower girls! I gave up housing the wedding dress only a couple of years ago! Otherwise nothing else as we moved 7 yrs ago and most other things belonging to DDs were returned or thrown at that point!

No thankfully. When we moved to France I was brutal about getting rid of non essentials. Apart from mine of course.

Yes, I have quite a lot belonging to one of my sons who moved out last year. I have a few things from my other sons as well. I am trying to get rid of it all now as I'm hoping to move.

I forgot to say that I also have a lot belonging to my DGC who visit each weekend.

Most of my loft, garage and shed. I have "Stuff" belonging to both sons and two ex husbands who keep promising to collect it soon. I know eventually it will be up to me to dump it but I'm currently putting it off as it's out of sight so out of mind.

When we moved to Cyprus our daughter was working in Egypt, so the contents of her room came too. She is now back in UK, but on her way home came via us and left all the things she could not take on the plane with us. So I will bring everything back with me when the house hold things are shipped back in a month or so. Where she will put it all is her problem.

Loads of stuff of dds', lots of soft toys, various other bits, plus all their many degree course books. Huge fat Russian, German and Spanish dictionaries, among so many others.

However we have room, and since dh and I don't plan to move from here until it's either a) feet first in a box, or b) to a care home, God forbid, it will ultimately be down to them to get rid of it all.
They both have homes of their own now, but have rather less space than we do, so I don't mind.

No nothing here that isn't ours. It did take us years to get grown up daughter to take her belongings away.

My house contains almost as much 'stuff' that belongs to my DD as it does resident DS, DH and I. At one time I even had a couple of bits of furniture. There is even a large plastic crate in her brother's room.
She has moved so much in the last 5-6 yrs between work provided accomodation and small one bed flats. She never has room to house it all. She is planning on moving this time next year and will be taking it all Hooray !

Personal items which belonged to my elder daughter in safe keeping for her two daughters. Her conformation bible which I gave her, her favourite mug, lots of photographs, an Angel, just things she treasured

Huge bag of stuffed toys, big teddie's etc. that my son insists he doesn't want, but I can't bring myself to get rid of!

Several gorgeous bridesmaid dresses from young GD when she has attended various family weddings. DS has no space to store stuff.
Also old LP's from another era when DS1 was growing up, along with three ancient leather jackets that he wore when they were all the rage.
Spare bicycle/scooter/roller skate parts in our shed from various GC's.
Lastly (and the biggest item) ... one large old tatty sofa which "may come in handy one day Mum".
Need I go on !

Loads of clothes, and various guitars, boxes of probably obsolete computer parts and cables, and a desktop computer. These all belong to my DD who no longer lives at home.
His problem is, that he doesn't have his own home. He is the live-in night porter in a small pub/hotel. He has his own room there, but nowhere to store anything. I'd love to be rid of it all, but don't know when that will happen.

Ditto gillybob, plus a spare bedroom and half a cupboard - although quite a lot has gone quite recently - it's a start.

Oh, and toys, books, craft stuff etc for the DGC - they're not strictly mine, are they!

Stuff in the garage being stored for a friend until he moved house (he moved a year ago)

2 bicycles belonging to DD and DiL. We live very near a great cycle path , so they keep them in our shed for ease. Bit of a squash as we now have 9 bikes in there. They can have them back whenever they like

We are storing things for all 3 of out children. Books...cd's...dvd's...board games...clothes...BUT we have the space and they don't so it's not a problem for now.

Yes. We have lots of stuff that belongs to my husband's brother who lives in Portugal .They were at his mum's but ended up here when we had to clear her house out. We threw lots away as we just did not have the room for it but have kept certain things. A huge mirror. A large box of football magazines. Pictures. Photos. The cheeky so and so asked me to put the football magazines on fleabay for him and I said I would do it but then he said I had to do them all individually . I told him where to get off to ..It would have taken me hours. Then he rang us one day and said he was coming over to see us and could we get out of his things the betamax recorder as he had sold it then he went mad when I said we had not got it ...it's one of the things we chucked. I don't know how big our house is in his head as he thinks we have lots of space.
Can you tell it bugs me?

Yes - stuff in the garage belonging to my parents when we cleared their house out 9 years ago. There are some pictures I intend to get out and look at in the next week as I may finally put them up. Also have school books belonging to my youngest son and some of his army memorabilia - as he's on the other side of the world now I doubt he will need them!
