I have just discovered frozen onions

Other brands available and other retailers available, hope this is not advertising, I just wanted to show you what I use.
I also make mint sauce in it - fresh mint, vinegar and sugar, whiz it all up.

I don't have any room in the freezer for chopped onions!

Oh! No, I've never used them, although I confess that I bought two tubs of fresh chopped onions once when I was catering for a lot of people.

I have a small chopping machine (like a mini food processor) which I use to chop onions and garlic. Easy Peasy

Just remembered we have some in the freezer from a BBQ we did last year - think they probably need binning by now

I thought that nina. The bag I bought was £1.50 and seemed fairly full so they won't be terribly extravagant. I can't imagine using them instead of just one onion though.

Have never used them, have always thought it the lazy option.
Reading this thread I see the advantage.

I used some for the first time today! We always have onions in the house but when I needed some for a recipe, I found today was the exception! I had never thought of using them but it was a suggestion on the ‘Eat Well, Spend Less’ programme. (Think that is the name). Also bought frozen minced ginger because when I buy it for one recipe it has always gone soft before I need it again!

I too use frozen onions (and sliced fresh red onions , which I then freeze) all the time

the frozen onions are I think, already blanched because they are quite soft once they have defrosted and are great tipped in a pan to make a quick omelette with some cheese. My eyes are so hypersensitive that I have trouble chopping leeks now; I chop them so fast that I am sure I am going to take a fingertip off one day.

DD has used them for the last seven years because following her accident she no longer has enough strength in her right arm and hand to slice hard veg like onions, carrots and similar.

I use dried onions when I would otherwise need to chop a lot of onions, for batch Bolognaise sauce

I use tinned chopped onions, they are already cooked. My eyes wont take fresh onions any more either.

I use frozen onions all the time as my eyes just cannot cope with fresh ones! They are fab.
