The stock is strained and the meat taken off the hough so a big pan of lentil and ham soup is planned for lunch - any takers? Himself has the breadmaker on to have some crusty rolls with it, so glad he loves to cook.

It’s all been a bit tense here, the saga of the decommissioned gas fire and it’s replacement rumbles on. Let’s just say words have been had, strong words, calmly but with some determination. Now I just need to wait to hear from the gasman to confirm he can unscramble what my old boy agreed was a good idea. I suspect it’s all going to cost a lot more money but it’ll be worth every penny to avoid looking at a cobbled together fire surround “with just a little bit of filler in those holes”, what the old boy thought would do is just a compromise too far for me....and honestly I’m really not that picky really. But it is the focal point of the room for heavens sake...rant over!

Hello the kitchen! I am feeling a bit more myself this morning having sneezed myself senseless yesterday. I had to buy antihistamine tablets in the end, which I don’t like taking, and they were only marginally effective. I am hoping the rain we are getting today will dampen down whatever triggered it. We have no school run today as my SiL has a day off work, so I might bake today (if I don’t start sneezing again!).
Morethan aerobics will help, I’m sure. Before I had to stop last year, I usually had to force myself to go even when I didn’t have anything to get out of my system - I always felt better for it afterward. And if you feel the need to eat chocolate and howl - do it (I found it was better to do it the other way round - but doing both at the same time is not advisable)! And yes, I know I am being flippant, and yes, I know you will forgive me. And no, no-one on here is going to give you a talking to. Just hugs and good vibes.
Corner I hope you’re feeling better. I hate sore throats - and technology. A combination of the two is absolute pants!!
I will look in later. DH is threatening to confiscate my third limb my iPad if I don’t get moving soon!!

I have nothing to say, not going anywhere, not seeing anyone. Was so amused yesterday, elder granddaughter phoned, she moved to the West County in June, we were chatting and she said ‘ Granny you sound so Welsh’ !

hope your on the mend cornergran I’m forcing myself to go to aqua aerobics this morning. I really don’t want to. Think I’m feeling a bit bleak. What with the builders, the constant worry and putting on a brave face about DiL. I might need you all to give me a good talking too for the next few weeks, because I just want to sit and eat chocolate and howl. I’m rather fed up with myself to be honest. Well soop I hope the kindle thing gets sorted and you start to feel better. I know your all worried about panache I hope you hear somthing soon. A change of mobile provider has coincided with the lurgy here. I gave up yesterday trying to access my new account. It’s the germs, I’m sure all will be well when I’m feeling more like me.

So sorry, the head isn’t retaining much, indeed anything, many apologies for not responding properly to people. If my hair could have gone to the hairdresser yesterday I may resemble a haystack less this morning, oh well, I’m sure the look is fashionable somewhere.

I rounded a corner this afternoon on a country road to find a tree had fallen and blocked the road. Luckily I noticed, just in time, the car in front swerving quickly to avoid the tree.
DIL whom I had been to meet, couldn't get home as the other main route into our wee town was blocked by part of the Health Centre roof. Scary stuff.
So dear Kitcheners, I hope you don't mind if I come in out of the wind and have a wee cuppa, or perhaps something stronger. My nerves are a bit frazzled. ?

Not been here before but just been reading some posts. It’s so heart warming to read some lovely posts and the care and concern for others that probably we all only know through Gransnet. It’s been a terrible and for some a tragic day. Up here in Scotland the wind is dying down, not completely away but certainly much better than during the day. After a surgical procedure yesterday on my husband we’ve had a day in the house resting and watching with trepidation the damage to our garden fences, tubs and general surroundings. We’ve been lucky, others have had to endure a lot worse. I hope everyone is safe and hopefully weather will abate.

I have heard from a friend near Glasgow that trees there have been uprooted. Please stay safe everyone who may be Even down here the bin lids have been travelling down the road and small tree branches have come off. Minor in the grand scheme of things, I know.

Next time a tablet savvy DC or friend visits, they should be able to clear your home screen of all unwanted app icons, and just leave you with the links you want to use

The scene through the window is pretty spectacular. Huge waves. Ferry cancelled. Bright sunshine and blue sky.

I feel that I've as good as squandered an entire day wrestling with internet access, courtesy of Kindle. I am silently wishing that I hadn't invested in the bloody thing. If Alexa asks me how I'm doing yet again I swear I shall ask her to faff off. I do not need apps or games...I simply wish access to my family and friends. Is that too little to ask?

End of rant. There are far more important issues that deserve my attention. Such as, when did I last have a pee. Life is far too short for gadgets and such-like. I'm a simple soul. Tomorrow, I intend wearing my arty farty hat and returning to the sheer joy of being creative. End of.
