Who is Your Alter Ego?

There is a thread still in existence about what animal you think reflects you. I naturally picked Sloth, but now I'm having regrets. We always refer to animals as "dumb animals", but on reflection I think it's very presumptuous of me to align myself with any animal.
On the other hand I have no qualms with doing the same with the human animal. wink
On a bad day I'm "Victor Meldrew", and on a very bad day (not very often), I'm Alf Garnett. sad
But on more frequent very good happy days I'm a Goon! So bye-bye Sloth; happy dreams!
Just call me Eccles! grin

My elder son said I am like the actress Patricia Hodge’s character as Miranda’s mum. Funny,as I wanted to be called Grandma as I saw myself as Grandma in the Giles cartoon!

In our family we have given ourselves characters from Lord of the Rings. I am a Hobbit ( short and homely) dh a dwarf (short and grumpy) dd is an elf (tall and slim) and ds is an orc ( very dark colouring and very grumpy at times)! We also, at times, refer to ourselves as characters from Winnie the Pooh. I am piglet (a bit of a worrier) dd is tigger (full of bounce) and ds is Eeyore ( pessimistic).
We do love ds by the way!

I think Little Dolly Daydream tried to ride a horse - I think your Dad was using poetic licence! grin

Marmight your Stanley reference made me chuckle. I still recall him getting his finger stuck in the keyhole. Joyce Grenfells monologues took you so completely into those little worlds. She was brilliant.
My alter ego has been Elizabeth Bennett ever since reading P and P for the first time when I was 12. I feel quite aggrieved that it now seems the whole world has adopted her. She's mine!

My friend was Joyce Grenfell (at work anyway, in the nursery sketch).

Gillybob, could you not be Ermintrude, of Magic Roundabout fame.? She's not a miserable cow, and neither are you! She is really rather cute, chewing her flower. ?

I think that I might be Hannibal Lecter . I study people , listen to them , try to psycho analysis them then sometimes bite them .

Marmight George, [not Stanley] don't do that! Unforgettable – or not. Do you have a grandson called Stanley? If so, you are wholly absolved of your mistake.

Absent, your comment made me want to revisit the Joyce Grenfell YouTube clips. The little boy I could recall with his finger in the keyhole was Sydney not Stanley in the Free Activity clip. They are still so funny. Little kids don't change much. ?

I like to see myself as the tall glamorous actress Tamsin Grieg with lovely hair, elegance and clever witticisms.
IRL I'm short, dumpy and quiet.

“What a lovely picture of an orange........oh, it’s mummy...” Brilliant woman!

I’m known as Mrs T or Maggie in the family......can’t think why?!
