Morning All

A clear blue sky with a few very pink clouds on the horizon suggests we should make the most of today.

DH is still slumbering so no idea what yet!

There’s a 40’s weekend at a nearby town here too Mick. Must be that time of year. We coincided with one in Whitby a couple of years ago and it was great fun. Have a lovely day.

DoraMarr Sat 15-Sept-18 06:32:46

Good morning from Birmingham. There’s a beautiful blue and pink sky, but it feels cooler today. I’ll be leaving soon for the drive to the south west and an extended family holiday. Hate driving, so not looking forward to the M5!
I hope everyone has a good day, especially those unable to get out.

DoraMarr Sat 15-Sept-18 06:36:21

Good morning Anniebach too. And Micheal- i’m heading to the Minehead area too! Have fun!

Morning Mick. Morning All. Sorry to report our corner of Somerset is grey and gloomy Mick. Forecast is for brighter later. Enjoy your weekend. Have only been on that railway once, really must do it again. The M5 has behaved well this week Dora, you’ll be fine. We’ve a load of ‘stuff’ to squeeze in the car and deliver to one of ours today. Other than that not sure what the day will bring. Hope Saturday is kind to everyone especially the travellers and poorly people.

Good morning all. It's grey and damp here in Glasgow.
Catching up on all the chores today and some supermarket shopping.
Mick, I hope you have a good trip, I really like the sound of it.
Dora and anyone else travelling, have a safe journey and stress free journey.
To those, not feeling too well, flowers

Morning all from a fairly bright north Leicestershire.

Off to the florist first thing, then delivering lots of towels to DD3 and collecting yet more washing!

We have a local heritage railway that does regular 40s events and regular Thomas the Tank Engine weekends.

It makes me smile that DH used to go to school on what is now classed as 'Heritage'!! grin

Morning Mick and All.

Snap Mick we are going to a 40s weekend at NT Hughenden Manor today. Disraeli lived here and then during WW2 it was a secret map making place. I hope to buy some vintage jewellery.

Any chance of some of your lovely baking Mary I particularly like rock buns ?

Have a good day folks.

NanKate Sat 15-Sept-18 07:35:17

Hello to you too Kitty. There seems a lot of nostalgia about.

Marydoll Sat 15-Sept-18 07:47:50

Nankate, I made Chelsea buns yesterday, but I'm afraid they are all gone! They are a family favourite. I will need to bake again today. Mars Bar Cake and perhaps an iced gingerbread.
I will send some virtual cakes to all!

harrigran Sat 15-Sept-18 07:56:39

Good morning, coolish here this morning.
GD1 being collected by DH this morning, she will stay until tomorrow evening.
We have a 1940s weekend at the steam railway next weekend, love them as it is like visiting Dad's army.

Good morning, Michael and all GNs. Dull but dry in South Yorkshire. I am cooking up a storm today ready for a family party for DH’s birthday tommorrow, so I won’t be going far. First though, coffee and a biscuit in bed! Have a good day all.

Anniebach Sat 15-Sept-18 08:21:01

Good morning Auntyflo and all x

Good morning from sunny Colchester.
No plans for the weekend yet. Hoping for a quiet one to catch up on TV and reading.

Auntieflo Sat 15-Sept-18 08:22:10

Good morning Mick, Annie to come and all here and to come.
Sunny and bright here, although looking out, the sky could be threatening.
Another day of not doing much apart from shopping , as I didn't feel up to it yesterday, but I did get fridge defrosted, shed cleaned, washing done , so have an excuse.
All that baking that's going on sounds delicious.
Marydoll, my DIL gave me a recipe for Mars Bar cake, but I never made it and have probably lost it by now.
Have a good day one and all

Brunette10 Sat 15-Sept-18 08:24:35

Morning to everyone from a dull and chilly NE Fife. Must have read the weather wrong yesterday I had expected it to be brighter. No matter still have a busy day shopping, chores and a visit from DD with chatty DGS. Hope everyone has a good day. I shall await your virtual baking Marydoll, sounds yummy.

A bright sunny start here in N. Bucks.
Fantastic evening at the theatre yesterday so a little bit late this morning
Lots of bits and bobs to do today.

Good morning Mick and everyone. A late start following a late night listening to music.

I love the sound of the nostalgic trips and 40’s events that some of you are off on. I have nothing planned but it’s good to just not be at work.

Have a good Saturday everyone. smile
