When did that happen?! How can all those years have gone by?!

All the family are down (except by siblings who are both on holiday) and staying with one of my DDs. And tonight...........a big ceilidh with live players, caller and pizza ovens churning out fresh grub for all the guests - about 100.

I am hoping the rain will settle so that people can spill out onto the patio of the village hall a bit. Anyway - big celebration with lots of old friends and folk from different bits of my life.

We are hoping that OH will be well enough to come and enjoy the music and company - we wait and see.

PageTurner - Happy Birthday to you too!!! It's not so bad being 70 - I can now speak with the voice of experience!

The party was wonderful - I slung down some painkillers and danced/limped my way through. The 7 GC were wonderful - everyone kept commenting on how lovely they all were - they joined in all the dancing with such gusto from the 3 year old to the 15 year old, and were on the dance floor all evening non-stop, and charmed everyone with their sense of fun. Life has chucked a few wobblers at us, but these lovely member of the next generation keep up our spirits.

DDs had organised wonderful things - a cake, hand made cards from the children, lots of jelly "babies" (actually jelly geriatrics! - very amusing) and the most wonderful present - high tea with them all followed by tickets to a choral concert that I will love for sure - just my kind of thing!

I was awake till 2.30 as OH, who did manage to come and sit in a corner, didn't feel too well - but he is OK this morning.
