Have decided I have become neurotic

Bought my scooter, still haven’t ventured out on it. When I first decided to buy one I wanted a canopy too so I could venture out and with a canopy wouldn’t feel so exposed to all around me.

The day the scooter was delivered I posted of the joy of getting out of the bungalow, no problem not having a canopy.

Prepared my recovery programme step by step, realized I would have to continue working on it come colder/wetter weather so ordered a canopy. It was delivered and fitted yesterday,

Am now looking for a knife ! If I am on the scooter and the canopy won’t open I will be trapped ?.

It was the fault of the men who fitted it, one said ‘some find these claustrophobic at first ‘ . ?

Neurotic ? Yes ?

Doodle, Fred is sparkling, he is under the damn canopy. ?

Fennel, I have a weekly order from Tesco, chemist delivers my Ensure. Everything else from Amazon, today a parcel , grooming brush for my puppy, Burns dog food, extension lead to charge up Fred, (ordered it last week but left it in the basket, forgot to click) new dictionary.

There are two ladies who advertised on the town site , shoppers, they charge £20, if only one item still £20.

Buy local weekly newspaper on line. Order my Killer Sudoku and Logic Challenge for the year .

I manage ok x

Annie how do you manage with your shopping?
Does someone do it for you, or do you have it delivered?

Doodle Thu 27-Sept-18 20:43:25

Another update !

Letter through the letter box earlier, not personal to me.

From the local church, an Appeal for a donation, explanation of urgent repairs, small congregation, two sister churches have been closed etc.

Back of letter was questioner ,which extra services would you attended , prayer, music, healing . AND do you have difficulty getting to the church.

Letter was signed two female church wardens . One was my daughters Sunday school teacher, we attended the same church in town, I use to help her with Sunday school trips, concerts, picnics,

Have known her for 45 years ?

Doodle Wed 26-Sept-18 18:42:06

annie do so hope this is the answer and it helps ?

kathsue Wed 26-Sept-18 18:17:10

Great news Annie smile

Willow500 Wed 26-Sept-18 17:11:57

That's great news Annie - fingers crossed that someone comes out to see you quickly so you can get that scooter out the front door!

Day6 Wed 26-Sept-18 15:47:09

Good news Annie. smile

You have faith but please have faith in yourself that you can do it! You have shown such inner strength through all life's cruelties and strife and you have been brought low. It's about time something went your way. It would make such a difference to your life if you could venture out with Fred.

Fingers and everything crossed that the volunteers are able to help.

Antonia Wed 26-Sept-18 15:41:12

I don't have any advice regarding the scooter, but very pleased to hear that you will be getting out and about! Great news!

DanniRae Wed 26-Sept-18 15:29:20

Sounds good Annie.........really hope it leads to success for you and Fred!! grin

Anniebach Wed 26-Sept-18 13:59:38

Another up date

Phoned the local volunteer bureau, had a chat with the manager . There are two volunteers at the bureau, one bombs around on a scooter and lives in this ward , the other is involved with disabled access. The manager is sure they will be able to help with advice and support for me to take Fred out.

Luckygirl Tue 25-Sept-18 21:40:54

I agree. I am not a church member, but so many of the church members have been here for me when I need help and support; as indeed have many others.

I don't have a faith in God; but I do have faith in people, the majority of whom I believe to be good and caring.Give them a whirl! You will win some and lose some, but definitely the way to go.

Anniebach Tue 25-Sept-18 21:37:52

True Elegran , so true

Elegran Tue 25-Sept-18 18:22:46

The church is not the building or the priest, it is the people who are battling to keep it together. "Whenever two or three are gathered together in my name . ."

I still think that if you were in contact with them and told them how you have moved away from the support of your previous parish, you would gain their support, and who knows, you might be able to help them too.

Anniebach Tue 25-Sept-18 18:15:00

Elegran, the parish church no longer has a minister, the vicarage was sold, the priests who always lived there over the years covered three village churches just outside town, the third was closed last month. We are witnessing the end of Christianity in the country , the Parish church here is in urgent need of repairs, a small number are battling to keep it open.

Elegran Tue 25-Sept-18 18:06:04

Annie Your parish church and misister are a completely different organisation from MIND. Don't assume that they will do or not do for you exactly the same thing.

Anniebach Tue 25-Sept-18 17:56:39

Thank you GrannyGravy, I will do it, when I sort out a few blips.

Callgirl, I have never met anyone from the parish church , never attended a service there so wouldn’t approach someone I don’t know. I did this with MIND and was badly let down, couldn’t risk that again. Thank you for thinking of a way which. Could help

callgirl1 Tue 25-Sept-18 17:19:33

Annie, it`s just a thought, but maybe there`s a member of the church who rides a mobility scooter, and could come and ride along with you. Worth a try.

GrannyGravy13 Tue 25-Sept-18 15:06:13

You can do it Anniebach x

Anniebach Tue 25-Sept-18 14:56:56

Thank you all x

Right new plan of action ?

Canopy has to go, a front screen which causes vision problems not wise, plus what is the point of a canopy to keep me dry when out if the front screen has rain running down it ?

So when I first bought Fred he was larger than I expected !
I parked him in the little hall, drove in. The first problem was getting him out . Son in law who isn’t came over and walked Fred out,

So, what goes in must be able to go out.

Very little room getting Fred through front door but if I can ride him in then I need to practice my skills’ well lack of skills’ in reversing , yes ?

Doodle Tue 25-Sept-18 14:40:39

annie I'm so proud of you for giving it a go. Getting out there and sitting in Fred. I think maybe you are right about getting the canopy off. It seems to be causing you additional worries and problems. Your vision would be improved without it too.
