Are you a beige dowdy?

Well, it's that time of the month when our Spring begins officially tomorrow, although I doubt whether there will be much of a Spring in our step; 13C max for Sat./Sun and drizzle. Grey days, so beige will still be OK.
I think this thread is beginning to unravel, thankfully; 197 posts! not bad and it's been most interesting. I've enjoyed it and I'm quite sure Michelle will too when I report back tomorrow during our regular weekly chat. But I fancy she still won't be giving beige the go, even if Winter is just around the corner.!

Up-thread I saw a reference to 'Bon Marché beige'. I've just had a quick browse through their on-line catalogue and it seems that they have also gone off the idea of beige. I could find few examples of this maligned colour and lots of quite vibrant shades. I avoid the so-called 'embellished' tops some of their garments are worth a second look.

Oh dear I wore 'beige' to DDs wedding..I felt alive and vibrant with my burnt orange accessories!

Today - dark navy jeans, red/blue/white striped linen top (muted shades).
Very bright trainers.
(I was on the play equipment at the park, so trainers give a better grip on the parallel bars, rolling logs etc.)

What I would like to know is when does the ‘beige phase’ start? Does it creep up gradually with an item here and there, or do people just wake one morning and decide to revamp their entire wardrobe in varying shades of beige? My dh is always wondering when the urge to go out and buy a little beige zip up jacket will strike him.

Marg and I know this is off topic - charity shops. I went into one in a very good catchment area S of England eager to pick up lots of good quality bargains. Nothing but Primark and supermarket items. I have no objections to buying either but expected some high quality shop labels. Moreover they were mostly very worn and grossly overpriced.

Nice photo Janesworth I think that is the colour a trenchcoat should be.

I have a couple of odd tops in different beige-y shades, but most of my clothes are fairly bright, not really advisable on my size, but I like bright colours, not keen on black, hate grey, barely tolerant of brown.
