I recently bought an album by the group 'Madness' and heard a song called " Shut Up "
It included one of the funniest lines that I have heard for a long time:

" I'm as honest as the day is long.
The longer the daylight , the less I do wrong".

So Gransnetters, the ball is now in your court. ??.

A line from 'Synchronicity 2 ' by The Police makes me laugh:-

'We have to shout above the din of our Rice Crispies,
We can't hear anything at all'.

This one's for Rufus

Not quite the same thing, but a young Australian friend had posted this morning:

Rick Astley for Prime Minister because he's

Never gonna give you up,
never gonna let you down
Never gonna run around and desert you
Never gonna make you cry,
never gonna say goodbye
Never gonna tell a lie and hurt you

For those who didn't know, Australia has had yet another change of PM.

Enjoy yourself, it's later than you think
Enjoy yourself, while you're still in the pink
The years go by, faster than a wink,
Enjoy yourself, enjoy yourself, it's later than you think

Colin Blunstone singing :

Caroline goodbye, Caroline goodbye.

If I was Caroline, and listening to one of the most gorgeous voices ever, I would definitely NOT be saying goodbye ??.

I ran so fast that life and youth at last ran out
I never stopped to think what life was all about
And every conversation I can now recall
Concerned itself with me - me, and nothing else at all.

The amazing Charles Aznavour.

Fat bottomed girls you make the rockin' world go round!!!

As long as I gaze on Waterloo Sunset, I am in paradise.

The best song about London by the Kinks.

Last night I had a little altercation
They wobbled menacingly
Beneath the yellow street light it became a situation
Well, they wanted my brand-new phone with all the pictures of the kids and the wife
A struggle ensued and then fat children took my life

Jarvis Cocker. I love him!

MissAdventure Fri 24-Aug-18 18:50:47

Jarvis is a favourite of mine.
His lyrics are genius!

Daddima Fri 24-Aug-18 19:00:44

MissAdventure, like me, you have excellent taste!

The Windmills of Your Mind by Noel Harrison, 1969 original. I wont type up the full lyrics, but here is a reminder and a link to the lovely old black and white video:

Like a circle in a spiral
Like a wheel within a wheel
Never ending or beginning
On an ever spinning reel
As the images unwind
Like the circles
That you find
In the windmills of your mind !

'cause all of me loves all of you
love your curves and all your edges
all your perfect imperfections

Just watched Time in a Bottle on YouTube. A really beautiful song that I had forgotten. I also love In My Life by The Beatles, one of their best, I think.
Thank you for the music, the songs they’re singing!

You’re my bread when i’m hungry, you’re my shelter from troubled winds, you’re my anchor in life’s ocean but most of all you’re my best friend.

Kenny Rogers

Thank you for the music, the songs they’re singing!
I shall now have that as an ear worm instead of Never Gonna Give You Up!! [grub]

MissAdventure Fri 24-Aug-18 19:56:37

You've got the universe reclining in your hair...

MissAdventure Fri 24-Aug-18 20:00:16

That song almost reduces me to tears, its so lovely.

Jalima1108 Fri 24-Aug-18 20:00:46

I don't know that one, who sings it?

MissAdventure Fri 24-Aug-18 20:03:05

Which one, Jalima?
The universe reclining one is 'Jeepster' (T.rex)

nanaK54 Fri 24-Aug-18 20:04:09

MissAdventure me too

Jalima1108 Fri 24-Aug-18 20:05:09
