Came across a thread today with the promising title of "Jokes"
Unfortunately it fizzled out; not surprising given the mainly feeble examples; are jokes and humour generally now too unfashionable, unsophisticated for Netters? Take your pick!

Grannyknot, You've really done it! I came to my computer after lunch to do some some serious computing, like how to remove "write protect" from a USB stick and here I am at tea-time in a time warp! Back to 2012. Like Dr. Who!
Thoroughly entertaining; just the antidote to a miserable Sat. arvo. windy, rain, hail and cold.
I can't imagine whatever happened to finish off the thread unless the perpetrators were thrown into jail.
And I was thinking that some of the jokes I was planning to share would be too much for "dear, sensitive Grandmas" How old-fashioned am I?
Must go and get my liver and bacon dinner prepared to fortify myself for more belly- laughing.

What and where is this jokes thread? Can anyone join? How much? Are all posts jokers? 17,000! That would take a week to work through that lot!

Grannyknot; Thanks again for that. It turned out to be a real marathon. Then it more or less ended around late 2013 and after a bit of researching I found out why. It must have been such a tragedy. There were no specific details, but given where it ended I can only guess.
GreatNan must have been quite a character and I would love to have met her on Gransnet. I'm sure she provided some lively discussions. 
I was relieved to find one of her comments saying that she only "cut and paste" from other sources; to think that she created all those jokes, from excellent to awful, out of her mind would have ruined my image of her She did a very good job.
