What clothing did you most harm?

I had a very painful hat as a child.
It was white fur, with horrific big pompoms on the ends of the ties, and a steel band in the edge part, to keep it close to my face.
It really hurt, physically and mentally to wear it.

It's hard work walking round on crutches!
Especially getting upstairs.

Thanks jalima. Pretty well healed now but still tire easily (unless that's just because I recently turned 70!)
The charity shop option does seem sensible.

I'm thinking the other way! Definitely had most fun with boyfriends in denim. Best comforting hugs from male friends with woolly jumpers. Most spontaneous genuine friendship from women in flowing cotton dresses.
Beginning to detect that I get on best with people who don't obsess about what they are wearing or dress to impress!

I'd like to add the smart black patent shoes I was wearing a few weeks ago because they caused me to fall over and break my femur!

The high stilettos with pointed toes I wore in my teens and early 20s probably contributed towards my awful buniony feet.

I don’t think anyone wearing a burka could physically harm anyone or defend themselves either under such a voluminous garment.

Well, the stay up stockings that I wore for a wedding hurt my dignity if nothing else ( slowly sliding down my legs and pooling at the ankles ) during the church service.
My school beret gave me nightmares too.

I still haven't solved the underwrite issue of which I spoke some time ago. I find one precarious hook fastened, rather than two, cuts me some slack. Also I am adept at removing the damn thing while watching telling. The strewn lingerie makes our home look like something from a saucy film.

Im sorry your update re the political angle came too late...Ive already started mentally cataloguing the complicated sports bras I got stuck in and the dresses that zipped up but not back down again etc..

The large patch pockets on my 1980s dungarees did me some serious damage. A door handle got caught in my pocket whilst I was running to catch a bus. The whole of the left leg was ripped open and I fell on my back.

Ps no physical harm but it harmed me psychologically

A swimming costume did my friend harm.
She decided she was going to get fit..
Having put her bikini on, she bent down to give her bikini line a once over with a razor.
She bent over and put her back out.

Definitely the babyish party dress, complete with a smocked bodice my DM made me wear when I was 12 at a dear aunt's wedding. DM decided her sister should have bridesmaids, she didn't really want them. and the only dresses my sisters (aged 10 and 5) and I had that matched were these party dresses, which I had always hated and had more or less outgrown. My embarrassment is very evident in the wedding photos.

I loved my DM dearly, but we never agreed on clothes.
