I am struggling with the agoraphobia and the bridge. This morning I Looked at a local group where there are photographs of our town as it use to be , there was the bridge, big panic attack. Haven’t left the bungalow for nearly nine months.
Thank you x I will post about my EFT treatment ?, waiting for the scooter now.
You will come through this Annie, with your strength and everyones love and help. You are still grieving so don't beat yourself up. Take one step at a time and that one step will soon become 50 and you will feel that you are getting somewhere, you will never forget but it will be easier. Need any help just come from where you are to us. x
Anniebach
You have caused me no pain whatsoever, we both know that sometimes thoughts bring sadness. However I have learned to not allow them to control my life.
I sincerely hope you will recognise that despite horrendous knock backs you have a purpose, to bring love and laughter to those that follow you, to be an inspiration to them to live happy and productive lives. Good Luck and enjoy the rest of your life.
Auntieflo, it’s because I am Welsh, why use one word when you can use ten ?. Thank you x
Annie, what can I say. You have a big heart and would never cause anyone pain, inadvertantly or otherwise. You pour out your heart's feelings on here, as can many others. We don't come here to be chastised, don't do it to your self. We come here because we know, that for the most part, we can get help, advice, and yes sympathy. All these great GN's who read and post are a help to such a lot of us. Don't beat yourself up. I am sure that the things you post are taken, for what they are, coming straight from the heart, and taken as such. Now I am beginning to waffle here, so will shut up, but Annie, please know that we hold you dearly in our hearts. God bless. ( You will get there, with or without your new transport) {{{hugs}}}
Joelsnan you are so right x a few weeks ago my elder granddaughter graduated, the university is only 50 miles away, I watched on live feed and wept. I should have been there, 8 years ago when my daughters illness led to a breakdown she came to me and said - look after my children as you have always looked after sister and me’,, and I have . This year younger granddaughter starts at the same university as her sister and brother, i knew watching the graduation I couldn’t do the same in three years time to little one. I had let my granddaughter, son in law and my darling daughter down because i put myself first, I was to frightened, I couldn’t cope with sitting there with my family because my daughter wasn’t there, my three grandchildren and son in law had to get throught that day without their mother and wife. I didn’t post about it because I didn’t want to do another ‘meme thread’ . The guilt was painful, I brought it on myself because I put myself first .
Last week elder granddaughter, now living in Cornwall, had her first interview ,job hunting , as soon as she left the building she face timed me, she needed me. I was with the three of them at the school for their A’ Level results. They were so sure they wouldn’t get their grades.
So that’s it. I have to get out there again, I have to be at that university in three years time.
Joel i have caused you pain and i am so sorry, forgive me.
Oh another meme , sorry all x
I echo solitaire's post.
What a brave and thoughtful post joelsnan that even with your own heartbreak you have the courage to help Anniebach with hers.
I wish you both some peace and happy days ahead.
Big hugs to you both and to others suffering great sadness. X
Anniebach
Thank you, just drying the tears after the last post.
Please, look to your future, are you enjoying your current state?
With regard to the bridge, did it cause your daughters death, no it was her serious mental condition so why focus your anxiety on the bridge. You too cannot change what happened, you will carry your daughter in your heart as I carry my darling son but somehow I know it’s not my time yet (it may be soon I don’t know), so if I am meant to continue this life I may as well live it rather than exist.
And so must you
Just home from a week in Wales and learned the word cwtch while there. So a Lancashire cwtch to you Annie.
You’ve made progress annie, so much from the time you couldn’t venture outside at all. Your courage will see you through. Now you have contact with two neighbours I hope more come into your life. People can be very kind. Sending love and hope.
I’m so sorry joelsnan, you also have so much courage, wishing you a peaceful night.
Joelsnan, I am so deeply sorry, will you accept a welsh hug, a cwtch please x
Nfk, making tea for the gardeners, putting milk bottles out in daylight, watering my pots on the patio haven’t dodged them once, I don’t have a problem with them now, stay out the back , near the door, and chat to the gardeners for about 10. Minutes ?
Anniebach
I have to walk up my stair to the landing where I found my son hanging, May last year.
My resolve was that it is my home, much as I would give anything I cannot bring him back. He had been suffering and this was his choice.
I am still living and strangely fighting to stay alive despite being diagnosed with Breast Cancer in March.
Your state of mind is yours to direct either grieve miserably or live but with the pain controlled.
My attitude was that I cannot change anything so why beat myself up. I still have my sad moments. The only time I did recently have a major meltdown was when a tv Drama showed a hanging man. I quickly turned the tv off and melted.
So pleased to hear you’ve now got people you know in your cul-de-sac to chat to. Have you taken the tea out to your gardeners yet?
When I can’t sleep, I design houses. I imagine a client (young couple with kids/elderly Singleton) and design a house for them. I rarely get as far as completing it.
Good luck with the EFT. I had to look it up! Sounds as if it could well work and you’ll soon be buzzing around on your new scooter,
Thank you Fennel, Iam, biker x x x
thank you kathsue x I was never too proud, just too fearful
I'm so glad you're making friends with your neighbours. They can be a great source of support. I've learnt to never be too proud to ask for help.
EFT has worked for my friend.
Long story cut short, she has RP (tunnel vision) and had her driving licence revoked. 18 months ago. because of her eyes deteriorating.
She drove a car, rode a motorcycle/rode a scooter/pulled her caravan etc etc
She couldn't travel on a bus/trian/passenger in a car because of travel sickness.
So she went and had EFT practiced it on very short bus journeys.
Now! she can travel anywhere on bus/train/boat/plane or passenger in a car.
After 12 months of trying to sort it we finaly got to take out pedal cycles on the train to Lytham St Annes and ride(pedal) all way down to the North Pier in Blackpool.
I know some psychotherapists who also trained in Tapping therapies and report positive results. One of them is a very sceptical type but was very persuaded by its usefulness.
Hope it helps, it's not likely to do harm is it plus, you've made contact with two neighbours - result. Best of luck Annie
Wishing you well, Annie, and hope it works for you.
I've never heard of EFT but I do know that hypnosis can help with a variety of problems.
Petra, do you mean think of the same place every night or visualise part of my recovery programme? I can’t ‘do’ places I have visited and loved when an adult.
Annie
Did someone advise you with visualisation?
It has to be the same thing every night until you go to sleep ( it can take months)
But what is happening is: the brain gets into the habit of 'seeing' these images and thinks, ah this is where I go to sleep.
If you keep changing the image the brain doesn't form the habit.
Camelotclub Read the whole conversation, but paricularly Anniebach's post on Sun 05-Aug-at 18 09:14:00. Then don't ask Annie to explain yet again
Thank you all, how kind you all are, understanding and encouragement , i am so blessed that you are here x
Barmy, The Taff Trail , my village, bliss, I look at my village on google earth.
Mercedes, I am so sorry, it has only been nine months for me, have you made a recovery or partial recover? I do hope so. I will post about the EFT treatment, it may help others.
Camelot, I live in the edge of the town, there is a bridge to cross to get into town, last year my darling daughter went on the bridge and ended her life by jumping from the bridge into the river, I don’t want to see it, to see where she stood in the last seconds of her life, but I now know I have to try to cross it, I am not ready yet though, I may never be, or I may, i don’t know.
kathsue, hurts doesn’t it x
Another nice happening today, my next door but one neighbour, he said hello to me when I moved in a year last January , phoned me and said my son in law who isn’t told him I was having a scooter, the neighbour told me he had one , hence the talk I am having a scooter, son in law who isn’t asked about parking. Anyway my neighbour explained what he kept his in and if I chose to have the same he would come around and get the scooter out and put it back in, wasn’t that kind. So I have now spoken to two neighbours in the Cul de Sac. ?
Annie when you are ready maybe we could ride to your old village.
