What couldn't you do without?

So many things! But chief of all of them are my glasses - without them I couldn't do much at all. While not as blind as a bat, driving, using a computer, watching tele or even one of my knives would be beyond me.

My nail clippers which went missing last week and I was convinced I had thrown them away, but last Sunday there they were in my kitchen knife drawer! I never have, and never will, cut my nails in the kitchen, so how did they get there?

Something to read! I mean book or Kindle, I'd go mad if deprived of both for more than a day.

And yes, my own knife - I take it anywhere I might be expected to cook. Why are other people's knives never as good as mine?

My contact lenses. I used to lose my glasses so often I drove everyone and myself up the wall with "Have you seen my glasses". Life is so much better now.

Having been without any for 5 days,I would have to say my Omeprazole tablets.Oh the relief when I finally got my prescription!

Tea, milk, loads of dairy. Car, computer, TV, hearing aids and glasses. I also can't imagine life without a garden - my soul would die without one. Oh and books.

I think it's anything you can't fing (that you barely noticed before). My life was incommoded for a few days when I lost seam ripper! But in terms of delights, my Bialetti coffee pot (and coffee); my knitting stuff and library card!

I too recently lost my ‘ small knife with a black handle’. I’m sure it went in the bin with the peelings. Trying to find a replacement has been nigh on impossible. They just don’t feel the same or are not sharp enough. I’m managing with a long handled one and it’s taking a long while to get used to.
So look after these indispensable things very well !

And oh yes, I carry a packet of wet wipes everywhere (but disposed of properly). Add Jo Malone perfume and I am done.

I couldn't do without a bath or shower at night, I find it difficult to sleep if I haven't bathed. I couldn't do without a cup of tea and the usual nice things we like to eat but mostly I couldn't do without my hobby which I'm passionate about and brings me so much pleasure

Whoops, nearly forgot to mention my iPhone too!! Sad but true...

I thought your OH had just returned...a few days ago you were excited about welcoming him home. Still, I suppose you can get excited all over again upon his return. He must be quite a man for you to miss him so much. I quite envy you. Enjoy.

I have far too many 'couldn't do without' to be specific.

Mobile phone, tablet, Kindle, coffee machine, garden, pets. Oh OK - DH & DGC.

I'm going to upend this conversation by saying how amazed I am at how many items I've considered indispensable I've managed without because I've had no kitchen (or obvious facilities contained therein) for a week and I'm amazed at my composure. Much easier than I ever imagined, thank heavens.

I wear my Varifocals all the time, but get so annoyed when at hairdressers that I have to remove them to allow the hairstylist to cut and style my hair. I then put them on after she has completed the cut and style to find it's not really how I wanted it cut. I get so disappointed but feel too embarrassed to say anything as it's my fault having to wear the glasses and cannot keep interrupting her whilst cutting.

At the moment as we have a glut of runner beans and I am freezing them, my wonderful gizmo from Lakeland that strips and slices them.

My reading glasses as well as tweezers and magnifying mirror!

My 2 pairs of glasses - 1 for reading and the computer, 1 for everything else (driving, TV, etc)

Bras (I'm very large-busted)
hairdryer (my hair goes frizzy if left to dry)
my make-up bag...I need my eyebrow pencil the most!

Reading glasses. I'd be completely lost without them (I am, about 10x a day, but only briefly!).
Having had most of my beloved possessions in storage for well over a year, I've realised that, actually, you can live without most things apart from the essentials which are required to keep body & soul going

I have several victorinox fruit and veg knives which travel with me but none of the above except for lenses so that's really what I can't do without!
