Good morning Mick and everyone. Storms are forecast for most of us, blue skies at the moment in Lancashire. Got caught up in traffic yesterday as M6 closed in both direction.
Dgc gone home after a hectic 2 days with me, I'll be resting and recovering today.
Have a good day .

kittylester Fri 27-Jul-18 06:36:51

Morning Mick, morning all.

It is still hot and muggy in north Leicestershire despite a couple of short rain showers overnight.

Pootling and faffing this morning and then off to see Persie 'performing' in a show! Should be fun!

kittylester Fri 27-Jul-18 06:37:31

Morning Nana3!

Gagagran Fri 27-Jul-18 06:42:15

Morning Mick, Nana3, Kitty and everyone!

No sign of any rain or storms here on the south coast so far and only a 30% chance of any rain this evening so I think we shall stay dry.

Haircut scheduled for this afternoon and need to pop into DD's to water the plants and move the post from behind the door as they are away.

Finally solved the birthday present dilemma for DH - craft beer! We have a small local brewery and they are going to make me a box of two bottles of each of their products - and bring it to the house for me while he is out with the bike club! Quite chuffed with myself!

Have a good day folks.

Good morning all. It must have rained in the night as I can see the rapidly evaporating puddles on the patio.
But I have never felt so hot as last night/this morning.
At least I think the thunder missed us but oh, for respite!

Marydoll Fri 27-Jul-18 07:05:29

Good morning all. Ooh I'm late this morning! I can't get moving at all.
It's really sunny already in Glasgow. We can't open the windows for all the dust from the building works, I think I'm going to melt. sad
Slower day today. I'm pretty much wiped out after yesterday's marathon tour of tile and bathroom showrooms.
We got nothing for the new shower room , but we however, did buy a three piece suite. confused
We can always put the suite in the shower room.grin

Good morning everyone. ‘Cloud’ forecast for this evening, ripe to obscure the blood-orange eclipse - doh!. Before that have to prepare for family descent on Sunday, this week I’ve been progressing at the rate of 1 hour’s activity to 2 hrs sitting around drinking lemon barley water.

NfkDumpling Fri 27-Jul-18 07:20:33

Morning All

Bloomin’ hot and clear blue skies in Norfolk, but it’ll probably be cloudy tonight so I doubt we’ll see the eclipse either.

Now off fishing again before it gets tooooo hot! DH has rediscovered an old pastime and has the bit between his teeth! It gives me an excuse to sit and read and paint and do nothing much!

Greyduster Fri 27-Jul-18 07:23:03

Good morning, Michael and all GNs. We had the mother and father of a storm here last night, but very little rain. And it doesn’t seem to have cooled down a lot. I can hear thunder rumbling around as we speak, and it looks very threatening. Ironing and kitchen cleaning for this old kite this morning if she ever gets off the ground! Have a happy day folks.

travelsafar Fri 27-Jul-18 07:24:59

No sign of rain here as yet, I was expecting it to start thundering last night according to BBC weather page.
Up at 6 this morning due to a pigeon sitting just above my open bedroom window cooing. It was lovely so fresh and cool. Went out and did some chores in the garden even before i had a cuppa, watered all my pots and runner beans, it was heavenly working out there. I have filled the brown bin with cuttings from our buddliea tree and leaves which are dropping on all the shrubs in the garden due to the heat. Off to my knitting group a bit later, have a great day everyone.

Morning Mick and All.

Enjoy the Tour de France today Mick.

I like your idea Mary of the 3 piece suite in the shower room. What about your bed in the sitting room ? You could have started a new trend.

Seeing one of my oldest friends today and his wife. We met when we worked together at the age of 17. If I had a brother it would be him. So many shared memories.

Hope the show goes well Kitty you will be so proud of your Persie.

cornergran Fri 27-Jul-18 07:29:54

Morning Mick, Morning All. Feels fresher this morning, cloudy start in our corner of Somerset. Faffing around today, bit more energised with luck. Hope Friday is kind to everyone.

ginny Fri 27-Jul-18 07:31:10

Good morning all.
One very loud clap of thunder and downpour in the night. Overcast at the moment but sun peeping through.
Not sure of today’s plans but babysitting DGS1 this evening.

Brunette10 Fri 27-Jul-18 07:33:09

Morning everyone and it's another gorgeous day here in NE Fife. We had fantastic lightening storms last night though - wow it was like Florida. Good day in Edinburgh yesterday just had a wander around Princess Street. Marydoll well done! At least you didn't come back from your shopping trip empty handed. Maybe another day out for shower room though (smile) Enjoy your day everyone.

Yiayia4 Fri 27-Jul-18 07:48:16

Morning everyone, overcast but still hot, storms forecast for later we will see!
Have GSs for a sleepover so in for a busy time, they are 11 and 9 and love to go out for a curry so that's the plan for this evening.Have a great Friday.

Panache Fri 27-Jul-18 07:56:03

Good morning to everyone of you.

Mixed weather reports this morning whilst here on the welsh coast it is grey and cloudy, certainly looking hopeful for some much needed rain............but not much eclipse will be seen.

A peaceful day seems likely and indeed The Tour de France will be enjoyed here too.

Nights are drawing in and August on our doorstep, the time flying by faster year on year. Not a lot to do about that!!

Wishing you all a peaceful day and perhaps cooler with some refreshing rain before we are all burnt to a cinder!

NannyJan53 Fri 27-Jul-18 07:58:22

Good Morning all

Still hot and humid, just hoping for the predicted storm to clear the air!

Had a lovely day yesterday meeting up with my cousin and Aunt although they live an hours drive away, we rarely see them these days.

Today I am packing ready for a few days away with DD and her family. They have hired a cottage near Tenby for the week, but I will be travelling back on Wednesday, ready to go away for the weekend with DP to 'posh camp' in Cheddar.

Enjoy your day everyone.

Pittcity Fri 27-Jul-18 08:01:14

Good morning from sunny, hot Colchester. No change in the weather here yet. It was too hot and humid to just sit still yesterday. Local trains stopped running, fridges and freezers in shops broke down...
We are the far East of the country and hope that this afternoon's rain reaches us.
Saving all that needs doing until the weather cools tomorrow.

gillybob Fri 27-Jul-18 08:02:46

Good morning from the NE coast. Well there’s no rain and definitely no thunderbolts or light foot as we were warned. In fact its a lovely sunny warm morning (again) .

Thank goodness it’s Friday. Work then Meeting DD at the baby clinic at lunch time for baby girls inoculations (poor lamb) .

Have a good Friday everyone.

harrigran Fri 27-Jul-18 08:05:04

Good morning, warm already and no sign of storms although we did have about ten drops of rain at 6 pm last night just as I was leaving Sainsbury's, didn't even wet the ground.
My sister's golden anniversary today so should send her a message, have to be a text as she is on a cruise but don' t know whether itnwill reach her.

Anniebach Fri 27-Jul-18 08:06:50

Good morning all x

Juggernaut Fri 27-Jul-18 08:30:28

Good Morning all!
Still dry and sunny but not as oppressive here in west Cheshire.
Have already been for a walk on the beach with DGS and his 'golf stick'!
It was lovely, just us, a few dog walkers and an occasional horse and rider, blissful!
We're forecast rain from 7-00ish this evening, can't wait!

Auntieflo Fri 27-Jul-18 08:31:47

Morning all. Some of you sound as though you are really up with the larks. Marydoll, your expedition for tiles, sounds a bit like my dad, who went out for a roll of lino, and came back having ordered a three piece suite. Friend coming this afternoon for a natter, tidying this morning. Have a good and peaceful weekend everyone.

Mapleleaf Fri 27-Jul-18 09:15:04

Good morning, everyone.
Well, we’ve had lots of thunder rumbling around since about 5pm last night, but really very little rain to speak of, but by the sound of the thunder and the look of the sky someone nearby is getting it. We get a few heavy solid burstd of rain for 5 minutes or so and then it stops again. I just wish it would get on with it properly!
The humidity and stuffiness/heat was and still is awful, so oppressive, making it a most uncomfortable night for sleeping again.
Not a lot planned for the day, other than a a bit of ironing if I can motivate myself to do it!
Have a good day if you can. ?
