Good morning all.
Oh dear, sad for all the football fans and England supporters. And indeed for Roger Federer fans.
However another day, another dollar as they say. I have just caught the first online review of DD’s play and it is a good (4 *) one.
So we are all happy here, or will be when they wake up and I wish you all a pleasant day.

Happy Birthday Ann! Hope you enjoyed our shared marvellous virtual Birthday party in Melbourne last Sunday. wink
But what a rotten birthday present! Not exactly "From Russia with Love!"
All black armbands had sold out early to-day! sad And it's Friday 13th. tomorrow.!
Even though I'm a Friday's Child (Loving and Giving) , I'll play it safe and stay in bed; forecast is 2C-11C,
You did say you are Monday's child? "Fair of Face"
Lovely; and have a lovely day. wink
Ooroo

Greyduster Thu 12-Jul-18 08:48:53

Gilly that made me laugh out loud! Don’t you just love ‘em?

Grey here in Teddington, happy birthday to Annsixty. DH a bit upset about the football afraid I didn't watch it as I was busy making cheesy biscuits for last upholstery class this morning.

Mapleleaf Thu 12-Jul-18 08:33:17

Good morning.
Rather grey and cloudy this morning. Supposed to brighten up this afternoon.
Happy birthday annsixty. I hope you enjoy your day. ?

Morning All

Morning All

Grey and overcast in Peterborough, but the sun did come through after lunch yesterday contrary to the Met Office report, so we’re hoping for a nice afternoon again. We’re off to Rutland Water today to look for ospreys.

A shame about the World Cup. I passed a bloke on the way to the loo block just after the match last evening. He was nearly in tears and could hardly respond to my greeting.

Good morning all x

Brunette10 Thu 12-Jul-18 08:30:29

Oops sorry everyone - forgot the weather forecast. Quite due at the moment but hopefully sun will peep it's little head though. Still sleeping I think!

Brunette10 Thu 12-Jul-18 08:28:48

Good Morning al from NE Fife, my goodness feel so bad. Only wakened 10 minutes ago. Feel my morning is flying passed already. DGS must take more out of me than I thought (smile). Anyway sorry for all those of you who thought England were the best at football. Not a footie fan at all but can still sympathise. More a tennis fan and so sorry to hear that Roger is out (sad). Hope DGD is good for you today Marydoll.

gillybob Thu 12-Jul-18 08:25:08

My 10 year old DGD texted me yesterday. She’s staying with me again tonight for the 3rd time this week ! Wasn’t worth going home for 1 sleep but never mind.

“Grandma do you want to buy a JD sports voucher for £20”?

“How much you selling it for “?

“Oh £20”

“Not much of a bargain is it? Anyway what would I do with it “?

“You could give it back to me if you like”

grin

You

Good morning, overcast again.
Specialist nurse visiting this morning.
GD went shopping with DH yesterday and came back with new clothes but today she would like some trainers for the sporting activities she has lined up for these holidays.
Happy Birthday annsixty.

Gagagran Thu 12-Jul-18 08:03:05

Morning all and Happy Birthday annsixty - hope you manage to enjoy it.

It's sunny and warm again here on the south coast and no humidity so very pleasant.

We have done the supermarket shop and have to go out again this morning to pick up a new printer. Despite DH's best efforts the one in situ stubbornly refuses to perform properly and we have had it for at least 7 years so need to pension it off!

Enjoy your days GNs, whatever you may be up to.

gillybob Thu 12-Jul-18 08:00:19

Talk of this Hurricane Chris heading our way but for now we enjoy what seems to be a pleasant day and perhaps not exactly scorching.

annsixty Thu 12-Jul-18 07:28:01

Good morning all and Thank you for the Birthday greetings.

However did I get too this age?

I haven't drawn the curtains yet but the sun is not streaming in as it has been.

My GD who is still off work getting over her Quinsy stayed over last night so I will at least get a personal greeting, poor H has no idea it is my birthday, he even abandoned the match last night.

Floriatosca Thu 12-Jul-18 07:23:50

Good morning all. Thanks Maw for looking after things while Mick is away. It looks a little cloudy here in Torbay but it looks sure to improve as the day goes on. I am having my first “taster” session as a new volunteer at a local museum this morning. I hope they like me as I’m sure I can make myself useful. Have a lovely day whatever you are doing.

Oopsadaisy53 Thu 12-Jul-18 07:22:06

Morning everyone from a dull Oxfordshire, we have DD1 and the GCs here as it’s GS and DD1 birthday, DD wants to take her kite up to White Horse Hill and fly it, there’s usually a breeze up there, so I have to start a picnic soon, we don’t want too much heat as there isn’t any shade up there.

Apart from that and coping with a house full, I have nothing to do except for a birthday tea this evening.

Hope you all have a great day.

kittylester Thu 12-Jul-18 07:17:27

Morning all from a dullish north Leicestershire.

Well done to your DD, maw, many happy returns Ann and well done to Gareth Southgate and his England team.

ninathenana Thu 12-Jul-18 07:12:19

Morning Maw, ginny, Marydoll and everyone.

Decidedly dull here in Kent. We didn't see the sun yesterday until 3pm and it looks like today will be the same.
Some housework is needs to be done and I need to tackle "the chair"
Anyone else got one of those ? blush
Have a good day everyone

cornergran Thu 12-Jul-18 07:12:15

Morning Maw, morning All from an overcast corner of Somerset. There’s an unpleasant smell of burning, from the fields I guess no wind to clear it. Mundane tasks ahead today, very achey after yesterdays physio so will take them slowly. Happy birthday to ann, hope Thursday is kind to everyone.

Greyduster Thu 12-Jul-18 07:08:22

Good morning, Maw, Mary, Ginny and all who follow. Hope Mick is enjoying his break. I believe Annsixty has a birthday today, so I would like to take the opportunity to wish her many happy returns. The sun is not shining in South Yorkshire - mayhap we will get some rain! Paint shopping this morning for us and then school run. Have a good day folks.

Marydoll Thu 12-Jul-18 07:04:05

Good morning Maw and Ginny , and all who follow. The sun is trying to push through the clouds here in Glasgow. I hope you have recovered from your trip, Maw. Ginny , enjoy your workshop, sounds my kind of thing.
We have DGD today, so off down the coast with her to escape the builders. She won't be able to get anywhere near the sandpit, nor her swing in the garden, so are off out to avoid a strop! ?
Have a good day, all.
