Morning All

Another beautiful, still, sunny morning in the north of Norfolk. Our garden is full of birds and the woods nearby are very quiet. It must be getting desperate for a lot of them. We’re going through a lot of mealworms!

Off to a bbq at a friends this afternoon. Our DS and family live a couple of doors away from them and we have to remember not to be too noisy so their dog doesn’t hear us!

Gagagran Sun 08-Jul-18 06:47:16

Morning all!

Hot and sunny again here on the south coast. I think the wind has gone round to the east so may not be as humid - hopefully!

Cycling and tennis on the agenda today - watching not participating.

Have a good one folks.

NanKate Sun 08-Jul-18 06:56:25

Morning Mick and All.

Sun and more sun ??

Tennis, newspapers and ironing for my hols next Wednesday.

If anyone feels like leaving Rufus a message on his Birthday Invitation thread today he is 91 and definitely has all his marbles, wish I did, I know he would appreciate it. We are having a party today on that thread. ??‍♀️???

And I have left a tricky anagram message there too for anyone to solve.

NanKate Sun 08-Jul-18 07:04:16

Gaga just checked and NO TENNIS today. ?

Good morning from a very cloudy NE.
It was a beautiful day yesterday and so peaceful in the garden. During the afternoon the traffic on the main road stopped and there were no passers by, wonderful.

Oopsadaisy53 Sun 08-Jul-18 07:44:31

Another beautiful day here in Oxfordshire,

I have a virtual birthday party to go to on another thread ( Birthday Invitation) so gotta get my posh frock on.

And then I’m off with DD2 to a Vintage Fair, then we are all back to hers for lunch.

Have a great day everybody

Panache Sun 08-Jul-18 07:58:48

Phew folks!!! I don`t know where you get all your energy from in this heat!!!

But a very Good Sunday morning to you all.

The early grey skies was but a decoy yesterday because it just scorched all day........night unbearable again, and much the same today with the added sunshine from the off.

One engineer has sorted out our BT problem....lighening had struck where the connection enters our house way back weeks ago........a huge relief though it will take up to 3 days to reboot and gain full power again.

A peaceful day needed after a rotten.......and sleepless....night.However wishing you all a lovely day.

Happy 91st Rufus.........Have a great one.

Eilyann70 Sun 08-Jul-18 08:05:27

Morning all, Yes same again in Cheshire - too hot to do much so I guess it's the papers!

Greyduster Sun 08-Jul-18 08:17:04

Good morning, Michael and all GNs. Hot and sunny but a slight breeze ruffling the branches of my plum tree. I doubt it will make a significant difference to the temperatures. GS’s ma and pa are coming back from their jaunt today and I have officially gone mad with the heat as I have volunteered to cook a roast dinner!! Enjoy your Sunday everyone, and Happy Birthday Rufus!

Yiayia4 Sun 08-Jul-18 08:17:29

A very Happy Birthday Rufus have a great time ????

cornergran Sun 08-Jul-18 08:20:09

Good morning all. x

travelsafar Sun 08-Jul-18 08:22:34

It feels pleasantly cool here at the moment in Letchworth. The sun is starting to break through and it is forcast to get warmer again.
I am bowling this afternoon and must admit i'm hoping it doesn't get too hot.
Sunglasses, sunhat, factor 50 and hayfever meds are the order of the day me thinks!!!

kittylester Sun 08-Jul-18 08:25:28

Morning all!

It's already hot and humid in north Leicestershire - hot I don't mind, humid I hate.

DS1 is coming for lunch. Tagine, salad and rice. Then a wander round our village Street market. I am usually helping on one of the village stalls but, thankfully, not this year!

Marydoll Sun 08-Jul-18 08:27:09

Good morning all, cloudy and humid in Glasgow.
I couldn't sleep, so cleaned the kitchen, under the sink, fridge, all the leather work etc. I'm feel so virtuous, while DH snores on.
The day is all mine, for the first time in ages grin.
Happy birthday, Rufus!

Brunette10 Sun 08-Jul-18 08:30:26

Morning all, bits of fluffy clouds here in NE fife this morning however it's fine by me. Busy weekend but so far going great. You have been busy Marydoll, well done. No point doing my normal Sunday chores as we have DD and DGS coming today - hope you all have fun.

MawBroon Sun 08-Jul-18 08:34:07

Good morning all and Happy Birthday Rufus!
Slightly cloudy here but sunny too, it’ll be another hot one! ?
I always feel I should do something at weekends - a hangover from the days of work- but actually some time with the Sunday papers will be very acceptable.
Wishing you all a pleasant day!

Brunette10 Sun 08-Jul-18 08:42:09

Happy Birthday Rufus - well done and have a wonderful day!

JaneD3 Sun 08-Jul-18 08:44:49

I feel just the same Maw! Up early (for me!) to get a bit done in the garden before the sun gets round.

Mapleleaf Sun 08-Jul-18 08:56:43

Good morning all.
Happy birthday, * Rufus*. Hope you are enjoying your virtual party. ????

Rufus2 Sun 08-Jul-18 10:21:27

Happy birthday, * Rufus*. Hope you are enjoying your virtual party
Thank you Mapleleaf and all well-wishers. smile
I've been overwhelmed and still am, by all your birthday greetings and I've thoroughly enjoyed the "virtual" theme concept.
My Brisbane (eldest) son thinks it's great, although No.2 son (the cautious one) thinks I might be exposing my computer to you hackers! grin
I explained that you are a very talented group and also wouldn't dream of doing such a thing! wink
I'm all for it!
Are these regular events? I'd love to get involved, but how do members score invitations? I'm serious!
Imagine all those virtual dancing partners! I used to be a keen ballroom dancer, although now I'd perform like "Old Father William" and finish up on my head. sad
Well, I think I have to press on to other threads before my day closes here, although then I can switch to UK mode and enjoy another 9 hours of partying!
Anyone game for a (virtual) midnight rendez-vous? grin
See you there,
Bye for now and heartfelt thanks once again.
