Birthday card fiasco

Oh I had a card with 5 on it for DGS1 & forgot I had it. Was a particularly attractive card so I kept it for 4 years and gave it to his little brother

How funny!? Putting cards/presents away safely doesn't work.

I was delighted to find Xmas cards in a sale last spring which had the names of dgs1 and dgd. Their names are a bit unusual so I’d never found named cards before. I discovered said cards last week in a ‘safe place’........suppose there’s always this year.

Another card question, what do you buy for dgc-an age card or a gs/gd one? Can’t seem to get both on same card.,

KateK I do search for age and GS cards but as you say they are hard to find, so I pick the age or GS that I think is most appropriate

Katek maybe Moonpig? Ive never used it but I think they make cards to order? I choose age ones for younger grandchildren. GC for older.

I tend to buy ones with grandson/graddaughter and attach an age badge to them

I despaired of GS cards because they nearly all depicted boys playing football or cricket or sailing a dingy. But I saw a perfect one which said all the good things about him which I knew to be true - trouble is I can't send the same one every year!
As for Moonpig: DS1 had a lovely card made to order for my 70th with photographs from different stages of my life. I treasure it and wonder how he can top that for my 80th!

Scribbler online will also make and send cards to order. I’ve just made one for my granddaughter. It doesn’t have her age on, so I put a big 6 inside. It does actually say ‘granddaughter’, something I’ve always avoided because I think it’s a bit naff, but at least it isn’t pink and sparkly.

Agree about awful stereotyping cards for boys and girls, as if they were all the same, but with effort they can be avoided.
