With younAlima and ninarhenana Can’t watch the sport so no idea what’s his bums like

Rafa Nadal is my all time favourite. His tennis is sublime.

All of the players just concentrate on their tennis and the ball boys/girls are trained to assist not communicate with the players.

He can’t help having OCD.

I’m one of those odd people who are glued to Wimbers. My DH calls it salad fortnight. ???

But each to their own. I never watch cricket but my friend is an avid fan.

He is so grumpy, arrogant and rude to the ball girls and boys. He doesn’t think the time rule applies to him. Oh how I wish someone would knock him out.

Teetime
His taut little tush, and his six pack!

A woman I worked with booked two weeks leave every year for Wimbledon fortnight. She used to sit in her flat (which oddly enough was opposite tennis courts, and yet she didn't play), with the curtains closed and watch every moment that she possibly could.
Thinking back, she was a little odd, in many ways!

I'm with you there Alima

Never forget soneone who I worked with announcing at her retirement party that she would now be able to spend Wimbledon fornight glued to the TV tennistenniszzzzzzz

Remember Goran’s rituals ?

I think the answer to his repeated bounces etc. is in Bellasnana, Jennifer

His oh so predictable twitches just before he serves amuse me!

They are virtually the same each time, and WHY does he have to bounce the ball so many times.

I'm sitting here shouting 'get on with it'

Anyway, an enjoyable afternoon of tennis sitting in the cool with the curtains pulled. Konta next then Edmond.

Salad for dinner tonight methinks!!

Anniebach Thu 05-Jul-18 14:55:25

Doesn’t bother me what rituals he needs, his tennis is a joy to watch .

I enjoyed the fun in the doubles but the players now have to think only of their game, what sport at the top level is for fun

Luckygirl Thu 05-Jul-18 14:55:23

Calm down teetime. grin

Teetime Thu 05-Jul-18 14:43:44

Now I have an image of Nadal's taut tush in my head.

Yes, all his mannerisms distract me from his brilliant game. He is close to and sometimes over the time limit on every serve. I saw him in a match recently where he was wearing a heavier weight coloured outfit which didn't cause a wedgie, but he just spent more time performing his other rituals. The grunting from most players gets to me too, I wish the microphones didn't pick up so much.

I am afraid I only pay scant attention to the tennis these days. I might have the TV turned on, but only in the background. Bring back the days of Kenny Rosewall and co. with their hilariously entertaining men's doubles! There is too much money at stake now, no time for fun.

Bellasnana Thu 05-Jul-18 14:25:45

I’m a huge fan of Nadal. He suffers from OCD and always goes through his rituals.

Alima Thu 05-Jul-18 14:09:55

Cannot be arsed (geddit?) with watching tennis full stop.

Luckygirl Thu 05-Jul-18 14:02:30

Does anyone else find it hard to watch Nadal playing because of the fact that he detaches a wedgie from his arse at least twice each point.

Can he not afford pants and shorts that fit????!!!!
