Happy as can be
All good pals and jolly good company.

Never mind the rain?
As long as we're together
Here we go again...

Nightmare!

annsixty Thu 02-Aug-18 09:07:13

Speaking of weddings...... it is 60 years today since we got married, oh how things move on.
H has no idea and so it seems nobody else does either although I have kept it to myself.
Just a small regret that we aren't having a celebration, but it isn't possible so I don't really mind.
I was far more upset the first time that he didn't remember.

Panache Thu 02-Aug-18 09:08:05

`Morning all.............and not the best of mornings here on the Welsh coast,a spot of drizzle........the sort the garden and grass truly enjoy.
Sorry holiday makers but the greenery has suffered enough!

Nonna....Hearing of your disappointment with the Estate Agents valuation of your home I do feel for you,but it is only the first so hopefully things will improve.
Don`t even mention viewers to me..........and yes we have a pair today coming from the South East!
The ones that viewed on Tuesday have really topped the list of excuses ........what happened to a simple NO?
Yes they were totally thrilled with our home... BUT......no not the road this time ......it was our Town........they did not much care for it.........on asking what were their plans ?
They are off to look at property in........... Cornwall!
Although they have a buyer (supposedly) they really have obviously not thought this move through at all...........more than that, how distressing for us......we have no heart at all for this next set.

Not the most pleasant filling ever Soop.....well the filling itself was fine, the fact of 2 injections meant my mouth and lip were "dead" all afternoon....at least my man had some peace!!.......and I probably lost more weight!
Enjoy Lochkilpead... of which I have heard much of from my DH.

Doodle you have no reason at all to put yourself down you know, your acronym is as good as the next, whilst it is only fun and you are most welcome........more the merrier. Please don`t let anything put you off......the world is your oyster. We all have our foibles and I have more than my share!

What a disappointment Topsy..........I think I had better bring the Bailey`s in person `cos I guess you could do with a shoulder to lean........or weep........on...

It continues for you Ann and I can well understand your reluctance on seeing yet another "Body" coming to assess your situation.......still you may never know perhaps this one actually does see things as they really are and can offer some much needed support.......and it seems the help given by our kitchen people may prove helpful.....hope so indeed.

Corner you grumpy............who do you think you are kidding??!!

Hope the surprise Birthday gift went down a treat Gagagran.......a very welcome one I am sure.

Have to show willing though am NOT in the mood for a viewer today...........but needs must.

Hope you all have an enjoyable and peaceful one.

Panache Thu 02-Aug-18 09:10:03

I can understand how you must feel.......deep inside.......dear Ann...........its something of this nature that really "gets you" deep in the heart and soul........thinking of you and again sending a virtual welsh cwtch........or two

MawBroon Thu 02-Aug-18 09:12:00

Thinking of you AnnSixty and the “might have beens” flowers

Charleygirl Thu 02-Aug-18 09:17:37

Panache Today's viewers may be better because it is a family from memory. All the viewers appear to be travelling great distances- I wonder why? Could you not go out for a coffee and allow the estate agent to do what he is paid to do? Less trauma for you and he may find out the real reason if they do not want your house.

T to be 29C here, are we not the lucky ones?!

annsixty Thu 02-Aug-18 09:22:17

We have been blessed really, thinking now of everyone else's "might have been"

ChaosIncorporated Thu 02-Aug-18 09:28:17

Good morning. It is nice to be having a slower start to the day, with nothing planned beyond an overdue attack on the lawn.

Nannytopsy....I am very envious! stressful, chaotic, and occasionally frustrating, but pre-wedding can be such a special time. I kept a scrapbook with all sorts of odds and ends..... dress receipts, samples of everything from napkins to rose petals, and lots of the planning lists. Its lovely to look back on those less obvious memories!
I hope you have the most wonderful day!

annodomini....forgive my ignorance. North West Rail?

ChaosIncorporated Thu 02-Aug-18 09:39:38

I do apologise.....it took me so long to post due to various interruptions, that I crossed with all sorts of conversation.

Panache....hang on in there. It only takes one, and the right one will come. It took ages for me to achieve my move, so completely sympathise.

annsixty....I hope you can find a moment to be good to yourself, today

Eilyann70 Thu 02-Aug-18 11:55:18

Thank you Soop and everyone for your warm welcome. Sorry I don't bake but I am in the process of making Passata - own tomatoes - and hot chilli sauce - own chillies. shall I bring in a few jars?
Ann hope you can dwell on the good times today and a big cwtch from me too.

NonnaW Thu 02-Aug-18 13:00:10

Had a second valuation this morning. She suggested £20k less than yesterday’s man! We are viewing 2 properties this afternoon, we are feeling a bit bad about it as if this really is the market price, we can’t afford either of these 2 or the one we saw last week. Oh well, maybe it was not to be?

Another hot day today, commiserations for all those struggling with the heat.

ann I hope you can get all the help you need, and congratulations on 60 years of marriage flowers

NanaandGrampy Thu 02-Aug-18 13:30:02

Afternoon all.

Its a warm one here today but Sam is looking smug as Grampy got up pre 7am to take him for a much needed romp across the fields ( I shall be spending some time picking fuzzy burrs out of his coat!!)

Oh NannyTopsy !! Sending a crate of Baileys !!

Happy Anniversary Ann , I'm sorry its not the day you hoped for but I hope you have treated yourself to something .

Don't forget Nonna , just because those houses are asking a price , you don't have to offer it . Houses are only worth what someone is prepared to pay. If you love one , go in with a cheeky offer. They might be in a position like Panache and have been trying to sell for a while, or maybe have their eye on a place. Nothing ventured , nothing gained I say.

I am feeling rather stupid this morning ( which does not bode well for my Pip Assessment where I really need my wits about me)! First of all I tried to use Tesco vouchers at Sea life ( a treat for the little boys). It kept failing so I rang a lovely boy at Tesco's only to find out I had been using the order number not the voucher number !!!

Then came on here and read two pages and thought , how have I missed all this only to find I was reading Page 1 & 2 of this kitchen !!!! Not 32 !

I shall retire to lie down with a damp cloth over my eyes to see if my brain remembers how to function !!

doh!

But this cheered me up - its young Jackson and his best friend Walter. The first friend he has chosen himself not a child of a friend of Mummy.

And finally, some fool gave Cooper a bow and arrow at Summer Club !!! A0 its bigger than him and b) ITS A BOW and Arrow !!!!!

Doodle Thu 02-Aug-18 14:12:32

Congratulations are due ann and I am sure that if he were able your DH would celebrate with you. I hope you have happier times to look back on. flowers

soop Thu 02-Aug-18 16:22:03

Back home after a lovely, blethery lunch together with Baggs...no matter how much time passes between meetings, we just pick up where we left off. I return home well-buoyed-up in spirit.
I shall now read through the countless messages that leapt off the page when I logged into the kitchen.

soop Thu 02-Aug-18 16:35:26

Yes, indeed...many congratulations to our Ann. Please, on our behalf, treat yourself to something a bit special. flowers I wish that the bouquet was real. smile

N&G Such happy photos. You have a lovely sense of humour. Your post made me chuckle.

Eilyann The answer is in the affirmative. Delicious!

I really sympathise with those of you who are dealing with the faff of selling and buying property. I sincerely hope never to repeat the exercise. I like where we are. Our wee home is big enough for we two. Although the garden is a challenge, the view is truly beautiful. The village is attractive, and the people friendly. We stay for the foreseeable future.

mumofmadboys Thu 02-Aug-18 16:38:32

Congratulations annsixty. 60 years of marriage is a huge achievement and you are keeping to those promises 'for better, for worse, in sickness and in health'. You are doing a sterling job looking after DH. Sorry you won't have the chance to have a proper celebration because you deserve one.x

soop Thu 02-Aug-18 16:47:08

Nannytopsy You deserve a gold medal and a bottle of Baileys. Move over, I shall join you in a wee glass or two.

Galen Thu 02-Aug-18 16:58:20

Nowt wrong with starting archery early. We have some brilliant kids in our club.?

Panache Thu 02-Aug-18 17:04:17

Drizzle has given way to mugginess...plus nice and pleasant.

I heartily endorse those words Mumofmadboys.

A handsome pair of young lads N & G......memories to treasure
Fingers crossed for that PIP assessment.

Hearing what you say Chaos whilst Charley......up to the recent viewings they were always conducted by the EA.....but there were such a mixture there was no continuity, so we stepped in.The EA themselves phone the viewers a day or two later to get their honest feed back.....hence they loved all we had to offer but disliked the Town, and so were discarding Ceredigion our next County and ours, and they were heading off to......Cornwall.
None so queer as viewers.Hope we are not like that!
We have had families view too, then the schools are too far (less than 3 miles!)

Nonna perhaps you are the fortunate one and by those valuations you may choose to stay put after all, often the most sensible option.Whilst I totally agree an asking price is merely a guide line and you can make an offer that suits your own wallet.......of course you maybe rejected........but perhaps not.Nothing gained and nothing lost.

A no show with todays viewers......car problems.........we are destined to stay put!

Glad you made the meet with Baggs today Soop and a fine pair you ladies make, and believe me count your blessings if you can manage to stay put in what sounds a lovely home.

Another new day tomorrow and for now I bid you a all a hearty goodnight.....an early one for me!

NanaandGrampy Thu 02-Aug-18 17:23:16

Evening all,

Well all I can say is whether I am awarded PiP or not the two ladies involved could not have been nicer. They made a painful process far less stressful. BUT don't get me started on the place. I have rarely been anywhere LESS accessible . It was a nightmare. Congrats to the muppet who thought it was a suitable building to hold assessments for disabled people !!

Now its a waiting game !

Panache sorry to hear about your no shows. Just a thought but could you rent your property out and get enough to rent something more suitable for yourselves? Its what my sister has done and moved to Spain to boot !!

GalenI am just worried giving Cooper any sort of weapon is rife with danger :-)

Lovely picture soop and Baggs !!

soop Thu 02-Aug-18 17:36:49

Away to pedal the bike that goes to no place. I had a gooey pud and my waistband is a tad tight. If somehow I could be stretched the extra five inches...I would be as slender as our Baggs. hmm

Back again after care home visit in the morning. smile moon

Baggs Thu 02-Aug-18 17:46:59

You only posted the pic of us looking almost sensible, soop! This is the real us grin.

Baggs Thu 02-Aug-18 17:48:22

Congratulations, annsixty, and sympathy too for the aloneness of your remembering flowers

annodomini Thu 02-Aug-18 17:54:49

ann, congratulations on what should have been a diamond celebration. However, in this company, you are a true diamond, flowers wine

annsixty Thu 02-Aug-18 18:14:43

I am so grateful and tearful at your messages.
My best friend, my GD is here and we are preparing a meal.
I was given a bottle of vintage Moet and Chanson, my first vintage ever and we are enjoying it.
A very dismal day is coming ok .
Thank you all.
