I managed 70% . Okay but could do better !

80% - I got the statue and Cardiff castle wrong

Jalima1108 Thu 21-Jun-18 15:09:56

We went to Dover Castle last year - very impressive. It is still intact because apparently Hitler had earmarked it for his domain when he invaded therefore it was not bombed.

90% - mixed up Dover and Warwick castles

Haven't lived in the UK for 25 years!

I was surprised how well I did as I haven't done much travelling in the UK for the past 40+ years. 70%.

Wonder how well I'd do with the equivalent quiz in Germany?

Jalima1108 Thu 21-Jun-18 15:27:50

I'm just examining pictures of Cardiff Castle - I thought it was more impressive than that.

I got 70%.... feel it should have been more!

callgirl1 Thu 21-Jun-18 16:45:09

80%, I got the Glasgow one wrong and the N.Ireland one, but I`ve never been to either, so that`s my excuse.
Dover castle is well worthy of a visit, and very interesting. I`ve seen the Angel of the North up close, and, sorry if it offends anyone, but it`s one of the ugliest things I`ve ever seen. (apart from me in the mirror!)

90% and now can't remember which one I got wrong (old age? moi?).

Just a point; the Glasgow statue is outside the Gallery of Modern Art, not the Art Gallery, which is at Kelvingrove.

Interesting quiz, gillybob, thank you.

If in doubt, what other city would keep a cone on the head of a statue on the basis he looked “up himself”? grin

Willow500 Thu 21-Jun-18 17:50:34

Oh dear 60% - I don't get out much sad

Chewbacca Thu 21-Jun-18 18:04:38

70%

hildajenniJ Thu 21-Jun-18 18:08:05

90%, only missed At Michael's Mount. I didn't think it had houses so near. I've been to Leeds, and my DD used to live in Glasgow. The city council keep removing the traffic cone, but someone always puts it back. I think they've given up now.

90%, I got Cardiff Castle wrong. I dithered a long time on Westminster Abbey, and nearly went for Durham Cathedral. I thought I knew both of them well. blush

baubles Fri 29-Jun-18 08:29:44

90% here. I didn’t know one of the castles but as I took the quiz 30 seconds ago I obviously can’t remember which one!

GranEd Fri 29-Jun-18 08:42:31

OMG!
Not bragging at all but I managed 100%. shock

I have to admit I only knew 5 for sure.......the rest were guesses!!! blush

lovebeigecardigans1955 Fri 29-Jun-18 10:21:07

I'm amazed that I got 90% - a few were guesses though.

Maggiemaybe Fri 29-Jun-18 10:31:05

Of course none of mine were guesses. wink

trisher Fri 29-Jun-18 10:44:23

90%- more by good luck than good management!

4allweknow Fri 29-Jun-18 10:47:14

100% Been to them all.

Skweek1 Fri 29-Jun-18 11:17:51

Show-offs! 50% and not impressed with myself, but since never been to most of the areas in the quiz, I guess I should travel more!

Jan66 Fri 29-Jun-18 11:42:01

80%

grandMattie Fri 29-Jun-18 11:52:52

Got 90% - Glasgow Art gallery flummoxed me.
no guesses either, maggie grin

pollyperkins Fri 29-Jun-18 11:59:17

Not very good -only 60%

Nanny41 Fri 29-Jun-18 12:01:26

I managed 90 % Dover Castle put me off, as I have never been there

grandMattie Fri 29-Jun-18 12:04:07

Nanny41 Do go to Dover Castle if you can. It is lovely and very interesting - from the earliest Tunnels under the Channel, and French invasions, to the WWII rooms in the chalk cliffs, with fantastic views to France.
