Went to see them at Wembley for what we thought would be their final concert!
Walking back to the tube in a quiet and genteel way the concert goers were chatting to the police and stroking the horses.
We were sitting, even in those days I was conscious that I may need the loo, but at least we didn’t wear anoraks and take a picnic.
Have a totally fabulous time.

I would have loved to see The Stones One Last Time too but the cost was prohibitive sadly. We did see them at the Cardiff venue 12 years ago like another GN and they were fantastic.

I first saw the Stones in 1965 at the Liverpool Empire (with my best friend Brenda). Mike Yarwood was the “warm up man” before they came on !! I was never a great fan of The Beatles but have always loved The Stones.

I had to save up and paid out of my Saturday Girl job in Woolworths. I remember my dear dad expressing astonishment at the cost of the concert - 10s 6d = 52p !!

I loved the expression on my 15 yr old grandson’s face when I told him this!

Thanks to all the good wishes last night. The concert was amazing, Jagger has more energy than is logical at his age and Charlie Watts looks younger than ever. Even Keith and Ronnie broke into a bit of a run at one point! All ages were there watching and joining in from teenagers to pensioners.

And I always iron jeans, I find they look better and they are actually one of the easiest thing to iron with a good steam iron. I do have a couple of M&S ones that aren't proper denim, they have elasticated waists and they go in the tumble dryer and then folded up ready to wear, but they are my gardening ones.

Never saw The Stones, but saw The Beatles in the 1960’s,
Didn't hear them though, the screaming all round saw to that,I was very annoyed.

Ooh, envious - enjoy! I saw them many, many years ago (1969) in Hyde Park, and a couple of times since then - Twickenham (2006?) and Cardiff. They always put on a great show. Heaven knows how they do it at their ages!! When we saw them at Twickenham, we stayed in a hotel just down from where Jagger lived with Jerry Hall, and where she still lives I think - we saw Jade Jagger getting out of a taxi there. #easily impressed

We went to a 60s rock concert last year featuring Marty Wilde, Mark Wynter, Eden Kane and Mike (or could have been Dave) Berry. I wasn't expecting much, tbh but they were all simply on fire! They looked good and they sounded good too. Everyone had a great rocking night, singing the songs and jumping about like it was 1965! When it came to 'Teenager in Love', Marty W said 'I ain't singing this, you can do it', and we did!

I wonder if it was the same concert A friend from school paid for me to go as no one would go with her We were all Beatles girls. I was converted later on and we went to see them at the Town Hall once which was great. I saw the Beatles 4 or 5 times when they came to Brum - had a chat with George (my hero) through a broken window. Well, George chatted, I gawped open mouthed. Happy days.

Pp mentioned Cliff Richard. I went to see him about 20 years ago in the Kings Hall Belfast. There was a bus strike so roads were bunged.. We got there eventually, by taxi and walked home, all 10 miles.
The show was brilliant, loved it, even though I was there with a tooth abscess (in agony) and had a ten miles walk home.

IRONING JEANS ?????

I just remember the whole place as being dark and dingy, nanasam, all very cool at the time. It was a very wet night, and crossing the bridge was quite nerve-wracking! I lived in Chiswick then, so not far away, and Roger Daltrey lived just round the corner.
I used to go around with a crowd of friends, including an amateur pop group, who played the Overseas Visitor Club in Earls Court, such happy days!

Last year we just happened to be in Catalonia at referendum time and somehow ended up at the Stones concert in Barcelona. Main topic of conversation on the coach there was " have you been to one of their concerts before?"
My honest answer was yes, but they weren't top of the bill then. My darling other half then worked out it was more than a half century ago. Tactless old duffer!

We also saw The Who at De Brome school hall in Feltham! DH had a pee with Rod Stewart in The Airman pub, too!

NanTheWiser That's where I had the date with Keef! Remember the dingy white walls with black paint graffiti? And the wooden floor that used to flex when people danced on it. We had a membership card - Prince of Pan I think it was called and saw The Who, Them, Long John Baldry and Julie Driscoll and the Trinity. Great times. The Stones were heading off for their first tour so I only got to date him the once. Who knows what might have happened had they not gone touring. He did write to me a couple of times, though. Shame I didn't keep the letters, they may have been worth something today! Ahhh, happy memories. Would love to see them now.

We saw them 12 years ago at the Cardiff Millennium Stadium, supported by The Kooks. It was such a great evening (spoiled only by the shockingly poor quality of the food available in the interval. Or what was being passed off as food ).
Jagger was just astounding - the energy of that man is incredible!

I'm well jel!! I saw them way way back before they really became famous - on Eel Pie Island.
Very local to me were Roger Daltrey, Pete Townshend, and John Entwistle of The Who. In fact I went out with John's cousin at one time. They've been my favourite rock group for ever, and I've seen them at the O2 twice in the last few years - took my daughter and her OH, who were both blown away!

Enjoy you lucky lady! My brother still travels to see them and loves them. Wow to the person who dated Keith. I still love concerts as long as they're not too loud Too old for loud music. My husband plays in an amateur group. we're both 67...the generation that refuses to grow old.?? And yes Lindylou its not kind to your fjnger joints.

Not in the same league I know but Cliff Richard performed at a venue very near us, and I watched a steady procession of geriatrics, some I kid you not, with walking sticks and one with a Zimmer frame, struggle past our house, en route ???
