3 things to be cheerful about.

1 Still revelling in the glorious weather.

2 I met two friends for coffee this afternoon.

3 my 'lady that does' comes on Friday so everywhere is nice and clean.

Can I please have that recipe?

Did my tax return (it is a reason to be cheerful because now I can forget about it!).
Coffee with my usual group of up to 14 friends.
Made my favourite vegan lasagne (I'm not a vegan but this is a delicious recipe).

Wow!

Have cleared dining room and lounge of ornaments, pictures, lamps, glassware, curtains and other bits and pieces in preparation for decorating this coming week. (Heavy stuff will be moved as needed when DH back home tomorrow to help me).

Washed and ironed said curtains & wiped down the walls!

Had 2 very enjoyable evenings out this week.

1. Yesterday I had my car cleaned so it's no longer an insect graveyard!

2. I had lunch out.

3. I heard that my dd has got a First for her degree.

Yesterday my 3 things to be happy about were:

* I had my hair cut and roots done (needed it!)
* My son's future mother-in-law came for afternoon tea and enjoyed the cake I had made.
* My son and his (new) fiance came for dinner and it was very enjoyable to spend time with them.

Rather worried about one of my DDs so I just had to think of 3 things that have been good today.
The sun shone.
Hearing the laughter of my 2 year old DGS.
Our garden plants are beginning to look very pretty.

I've been listening to little children read at a school
Friends have just invited us out for a drink

Got loft ladder and new hatch door fitted which I’ve wanted for ages

Anticipating arrival of DS2 any moment!

The new neighbours young boxer puppy came to visit this morning

Finally decided on, and ordered new lounge curtains

Coming home on the bus, we saw a small dog, with a vet collar on. He lifted his leg, overbalanced, and ended up doing a headstand onto his collar. All bus passengers very amused.

1. new business doing better than expected
2. Sun has been shining for last 2 weeks non stop
3. Spending so much time in garden

DGS 2 finally mastered walking and is dead proud of himself.
Friend popped round unexpectedly and cheered me up.
Finished planting up geraniums, chrysanthemums, strawberry plants and a random selection of other flora.

I managed to stick to my 500 calories today (I’m doing the 5:2 diet)

I know I can eat normally tomorrow

Cleaned the patio paving today so now it won’t need to be done again for a while

Dh's car has been cleaned so I no longer get grubby if I brush against it.

I spent ages browsing in a new bookshop today.

I've made my best loaf of sour dough bread yet - I've been determined I'll master it.

* We had a very pleasant visit to our sister-in-law with lots of laughter
* She cooked us a delicious evening meal
* Whilst we were at her house I got a text message to say that our burglar alarm was going off BUT it was a false alarm - the relief was immense (our daughters were able to go to the house and report back that all was ok!)

Retail sales have bounced up.
I have a free day so can spend the day at the allotment cutting down grass.
The patio doors are being fitted tomorrow.

1. Visited a young friend with incurable cancer , we cried together but laughed a lot too
2. Bought 2 lovely summer tops for next to nothing in TM*
3. The red Papaver Poppies have burst into bloom in the front garden

1/ Planted out my salvia cutting that has rooted nicely

2/ Had a lovely chat with young son of a neighbour, about his A levels

3/ Made a cushion cover that has been pending for ages

1. Took DGS2 to a fifth birthday party with a great entertainer who kept all the chaperones laughing as well as the children.
2. A man who should have gone to Specsavers took me for DGS's mum.
3. Came home to find my copy of the latest GN Book Club book on the mat, instead of the cat's usual offering.

My 2 new books arrived. Meet me at the Museum and the Art of Falling Apart.
Cut some peonies and have become intoxicated with the things.
Made a small bobble with my DGDs new bobble kit.

I picked up a new book to read from the library.

I had a lovely granny nap this afternoon.

It’s cool enough outside that I’ve been able to use my slow cooker to make a delicious casserole (one of the few perks of the miserable weather)

1 Chatted to my dc loads online.
2 I've made a good sour dough loaf - at last!
3 Had coffee in my favourite independent coffee shop.

1. Even though I travel a lot to do voluntary work, I went alone on the train (from Kent) to Nottingham ostensibly to see a comedian I'd seen on an internet clip who seemed funny.
2. Stayed at an Airbnb and loved using my bus pass to travel all over the city, including a Polish restaurant I'd seen on TripAdvisor - well worth the journey.
3. Found comedian extremely offensive and I walked out in the middle of the show!! And don't think it was just my age - it was beyond the pale.
