The managers that are paid megabucks have no idea what really goes on and I don’t think they have any empathy for sick people.
I don't think it's fair to have a go at the management and admin staff of the NHS either. I've no axe to grind, as I don't know anyone in one of these roles, but the logistics of such a huge operation must be mind-blowing, and these people do, after all, enable the frontline staff to do their job. I'm sure the vast majority are working their socks off behind the scenes with little appreciation, and that few of them are actually earning megabucks.
