Well here I am in orthopaedic ward! Fell this evening and cracked my hip. Scheduled for op first thing to insert pin in my good hip!

Wishing you a speedy recovery, mcem

Really bad luck. Just not how you planned your weekend. At least you haven’t had ages to think about it. I do wish you a speedy recovery and hope you have some help with the everyday things when you get home.

Sending a big HUG and some flowers. Get Well Soon !! (I would have sent you some grapes but as you are having an op you can't eat them - however, don't worry because I've eaten them instead!!)

I looked after a very elderly lady on the ward once. She said "I 'ad two good 'ips, then one of 'em went bad, so they fixed bad 'un and then I tripped on good 'un so they 'ad to fix bad good 'un, I'm reet glad I only 'ave two 'ips.

She was about 95 I think, and we did make her right again and she tottered around on her good/bad hips for a few more years.

Hope all goes well today. cupcake flowers

What hard luck, mcem. That's the accident we all dread, isn't it. I'm sure you'll be well looked after if it's the hospital I think it is. I've visited it a few times! I hope you have plenty of reading material and lots of visitors to bring you little treats.
All the best for the surgery, flowers

Thank you so much for all the good wishes. Op took place Monday morning and I'm already feeling reassured. Physio visited and plans to start work today. Apart from the pain which is pretty well controlled, the worst thing is the bedpans!
After all the risendronate sodium and vit c plus calcium I feel a bit cheated!
All because I was wearing heels ( not high) and misjudged the height of a pavement!

NfkDumpling Tue 29-May-18 08:17:05

So pleased to hear all is well. We need a convalescent home for GNetters.

HAZBEEN Tue 29-May-18 14:24:28

Glad to hear all has gone to plan and you’re now on the road to recovery, these things are so easily done... and usually leave us feeling cross with ourselves!

What bad luck - I dread falling, proper footwear is so important. Laceup Skechers!
