I did exactly the same a few years ago. I’ve got a screw in mine. Op went well but have a bit of arthritis now

Sending you all best wishes mcem - I went flying down a couple of steps a month ago and in a few weeks I shall have new dentures so I'll be able to smile again.

Speedy recovery mcem. For some of us- tai chi, pilates and yoga helps with balance (along with lower heels and smaller glasses of course)

I broke my wrist on a may bank holiday ,in all my wisdom I decided to wait until the next day to have it looked at because I was sure there would be massive queues in A and E ....due to stupidity I now have a thumb that doesn't function .Glad you're not so daft and hope you have a speedy recovery .

Great that you could have the op so swiftly and that its gone well. Lots of good advice here - I hope you recover swiftly. Have you thought of asking someone to get you some arnica tablets? You can get them at many chemists, including, I think, Boots. They are homeopathic, and I know many people think they are nonsense, but I've used them when I've had surgery and recovered more quickly than others on the ward - could just be coincidence, but does no harm. Also many other times when I , and others who've used them, felt a real benefit. Not a scientific study, but you lose nothing by trying. You just disolve a couple of tablets under your tongue, 20 minutes away from food, and avoid coffee and peppermint, which counteracts the effect. Whatever you do - I wish you a swift and as painless recovery as possible!

I was wearing sensible flatties the other week when I went flying, luckily I grabbed something on the way down otherwise it could have been a broken bone or pitching into the harbour. Just a painful wrist and fingers instead which was bad enough.

I can fall over my own feet.

It's good news that the surgery went well, mcem. Now you just have to do what the physio tells you to and you'll be well on your way to being back on your feet - though not in heels, please!

Fennel given the outfit I was wearing the Skechers were a no no!
Progress is good so I 'll visit the GN home but won't take up residence!

I still work in this area albeit part time,so be good and do as your physios say as they have the say so on when you get to go again usually ??.
