Not long until your respite ann, I can understand waiting until after your friends have visited. Good friends are for cherishing.
I’ve felt as if I’m running up a sand hill, a step forward and a slide to the bottom, Today has been frankly horrid, never mind, tomorrow has to be better. I’ve got a glass of chilled white now and having visited the kitchen feel a whole lot better. So thank you soop.

Especially towards the end of the day when I feel sad I console myself by thinking I will feel better tomorrow, and then wonder how on earth people cope who fear that new day.

Had a few shocking nights and feel twice as old as I look......and that really says a lot!.......so I think head down and some rest required before I do myself an added injury.

The storms didn't materialise. It's yet another glorious day. The sea shimmers. There is a refreshing light breeze. Wonderful!
NonnaW I would also like to echo the message received from Maw. We have two good pals undergoing treatment for Prostate Cancer. Both are responding well and remain in good spirits.
We visited the garden centre this morning. It was a real treat to wander through a maze of flowers and shrubs. Wonderful perfume in the air. We bought some unusual greetings cards. Our friend has a birthday on Monday. We then wondered whether her husband in the care home had remembered to ask a member of staff to buy a birthday card for his wife. We carried on into Campbeltown and helped our friend sign his name after a brief message contained in the card. When friend arrives on Monday, she will be very happy that her husband remembered her birthday.

Hello folks. Today has been the day of the experimental cake, and I fear it is something of a disappointing effort. Why experimental? Because it is an American recipe and I struggled with converting the cups to something I could vaguely understand, because I was always rubbish at arithmetic! Anyway, It has a lot of liquid things in it and I am not sure that, after an hour in the oven, it is absolutely cooked. It has strawberries in it, and strawberry jam, and lemon yoghurt. Yes, I know 
! The bit I stuck the skewer in came out clean, but it has sunk a little bit, and that does not bode well. DH will probably eat it anyway. If anyone can point me in the direction of a reliable conversion chart I would be very grateful. When it is cool I will cut it and let you know what the result is. I know that cake standards in the kitchen are very high, so this may not be of an acceptable standard for you Kitcheners to sample ?!
