I’ve just been reminded that I used to quieten DDs when infants by carrying them around crooning ‘What are you doing Sunday, baby’, a tune they can all still hum, and which must date me. One of the DDs used to sing ‘Surfing USA’ to hers - no wonder the DGC were so restless. What are the top numbers nowadays?

Summertime - another of my favourites. And I've just realised the words are from a mother to a baby.
Thanks Polly.

This thread has made me very nostalgic for the days when a little babe was snuggled on my shoulder and I crooned one of the above songs gently.

And they were too young to tell me I couldn't sing!

For DS2, I used to sing a song of my own making, "The Animal Bedtime Song"
It was alphabetical, which could present the odd challenge!

The aardvarks and the bears have all gone to sleep, gone to sleep, gone to sleep, the aardvarks and the bears have all gone to sleep, so must you, so must you so must you!

The camels and the dingos have all gone to sleep etc etc

That sounds like fun phoenix! Now I'm going to have to go through the alphabet for all the verses. Hmm... elephants and foxes, giraffes and hippos, iguanas and..... and..... erm, Joeys? Will have to give this some more thought smile

(Perhaps this should be on the Games Forum? grin)
