The good things about retirement

Or in my case, semi retirement! Today, I decided to get a sea fix. Living in the centre of the country, this is so much easier to do now that work is only undertaken on the occasional day. I had no plan to do this until this morning, just took myself off to a part of the coast I had never been to before. Had a wonderful day, walking along the front and along the coastal path, stopping frequently to gaze at the views and having lunch in a cafe, then coffee and cookie in the best motorway services (Gloucester). Sheer bliss! Anyone else done something on a whim just because they can now they've retired?

Hi Smithy ... it was about an hour up to Como, and yes it would be fine to go solo. On the way home, instead of a taxi we did a cruise right down to Como town, then jumped on the train to the airport. The Single Travel Co “ Just You” they do go to Como, I have had 2 amazing hols with them already. Happy hols ✈️

Thanks for that Coconut!
I find singles hols expensive but your trip sounded good. I've flown to Milan before but was with my daughter and had a lovely few days in Milan. It was very cheap too.
