Daisy - So sorry you're feeling like this. Hoping the sympathy and encouragement offered by Gransnetters help. You need people in your community to support you too. Are there any community groups or befriending organisation to help? Your health centre or Library may have a list. Age Concern may be able to help. You never know what might prove helpful.
Anxiety cripples people's lives, I know. My 23 year old GD has suffered for years. She lost a good job because she couldn't get to work on time and gradually retreated to her home, no longer able to use public transport. After programmes of counselling and medication she seems to be improving at last.
Things that (sometimes unreasonably) get on your nerves...hopefully lighthearted

I agree with others to see your GP before it gets out of hand. People who suffer from anxiety are very brave people, as no one can understand how awful it is unless they've suffered. There is no need to feel disgust with yourself. These things happen to the best of us. Good luck
