TBH if Paw had been here I might not have made it to the Dr at all.
She seemed not at all surprised that I am getting things now, she said it was like the way teachers always start the holidays feeling rubbish, or have a headache all the first week.
Heigh Ho. Onwards and upwards.

I come bearing gifts - well cake actually as there did seem to be a dearth of it in the kitchen when I looked in earlier. So I hied me to the oven and made TWO large lemon drizzles, which I know are very popular and have left them ready for the cake eaters to tuck into. Probably tomorrow now - but they will be just as nice then.

My eldest DGD had her first GCSE exam today - Biology. She was very laid back about it and finished 15 minutes before the allotted time. (Just hope there wasn't a question on the back of the paper that she missed out). It's Chemistry on Thursday and rather her than me for that one!
She rang her uber-Grandad to pick her up from Costa later this afternoon, where she and her friends had adjourned to enjoy a frappucino. Oh to be 16 again!

I don't think that phenomenon is peculiar to teachers - dentists also suffer from it. Dh always used to have a cold during the first week of any summer holiday we had.

Well known if frustrating phenomenon I think maw and kitty. It seems to hit when the adrenalin stops. Sort of when there’s space for it to happen. Even with spots Flynn is a cute little soul. We’ve got our Littlest here today, no sunshine and rain forecast - help .

Feeling rather frustrated today; plan was that we should pick GS up from school after cross country but now he may not be doing cross country. Also to babysit him while mum and dad go running, but now dad may not be running, so we may not be needed at all! We may not know anything for certain until we have left home to drive over to DD’s this afternoon, in order to cover any eventuality! I may just decide to go back to bed and pull the covers over my head. I am very disgruntled for all sorts of reasons today.

Greyduster You -may- be disgruntled. It's allowed. How about we tuck into Gaga's large lemon drizzle cake? It would be rude not to sample her kindly offerings. In fact, we could have ourselves a cake tasting party. Oh boy! Thanks a bundle, Gaga.

We've been invited to a Champagne lunch at our pal's home to celebrate the royal wedding. It would be churlish to decline. In fact, I've already decided to have a right royal time.

Had a tedious day of Hospital for procedures followed by our Surgery to redress my leg after a recent`op........the "good news" being this re dressing appointments may just go on......and on......Bah humbug

Panache Wow! Your post is amazing. Please do not bother to lurk any longer. Us lot hope that you'll linger and amuse us with your wit. You have a way with words. for whatever it is that you've had done to your leg. The aftercare is very important. Clean dressings are a must. Thing is, you've been through the worst and you are now on the road to recovery. I wish you well and trust that you will not overdo things. It takes time to heal. Take a comfortable seat and I shall cut a slice of Gaga's lemon drizzle cake. It's calorie free.

Off to do stuff aboot the hoos. I need to wash my hair...such fun! After which, I shall sit down and read today's newspaper. A bit late in the day but who cares.

Well, I didn’t pull the covers over my head - I had a monumental meltdown and DH hid behind the sofa. Then I got over it, and we went to DDs. GS didn’t do cross country and SiL didn’t do his fell running (man flu), but we had a nice tea and then DH and I took the boy over to the playing field, which has an old wicket on which we played cricket for an hour. It was great fun and cheered me up a lot. GS got slightly panicked when a large brown labrador named Ethel came up to him and slobbered all over his shorts. He is not afraid of dogs - he is afraid of mum ?, who is equipped with high fidelity dog slobber radar.
And Panache I agree with you, you don’t “do” cider in Wales. Someone should tell that to the visitor centre near Brecon where we bought it! They do all sorts of other wonderful things though; cawl, lava bread, sewin and wonderful lobsters in Solva! I could go on (and frequently do!)?.

Phew survived the lion taming and then had a lovely day today with Littlest. I’m wondering about one of life’s mysteries. How can legs that are so much smaller than mine carry a body so much faster? Anyone know?

On the subject of legs, what’s happened to yours panache, doesn’t sound good.

Like the sound of your champagne gathering soop, I’m looking forward to seeing the ‘frocks’, for some reason Mr C isn’t, , may even rustle up a glass of my own. I suspect your day will be more fun though kitty.

Oh grey, I understand that disgruntled feeling. I hope you decided that you ‘may’ just chill out with something enjoyable. Isn’t it a good job that when grandchildren are born grandparents develop a patient gene? Hope things worked out the way you preferred.

Another active day tomorrow. Off to visit a friend recently arrived in this area, we worked together far too many years ago. She’s worried about her memory, trouble is so am I, it’s hard to see a very academic woman struggle. Fortunately she has family close by who love and care for her.
