Here we are again
Happy as can be
All good pals and jolly good company
Welcome to all our friends...
Thank you Lona!
You have shared family troubles with the rest of us here Lona but never once brought the kitchen down, only life does that to us now and again.
It would be lovely to see you in here again, share a laugh and a vent, it’s good medicine.
Sending you strong healing vibes mixed with very strong painkillers for a speedy recovery ?
Not to mention cardamom shortbread...
thanks Maw
Goodness, Ithink it was your Lemon Drizzle cake that drew me into the kitchen at first Lona (that or Baggs’ flapjacks). Good to see you again.
Ann I’m glad your husband had such prompt and good medical help. Take care of yourself too.
Please, please return to being cheerful. I cannot bear bringing the kitchen down.
My H is so frustrated with no speech and so anxious and upset. He is having one to one monitoring, he will not stay in bed and will only sit in a chair while someone sits with him.
He had a CT scan while I was there to check for further/more damage.
I am not thinking further than today.
My GD has been with me, my S went this morning, we are going to get something to eat now.
Bless you Ann you don’t need to worry about everyone in the kitchen, you have enough to cope with. You’re not bringing us down at all, everyone is just concerned for you as you would be for any of us in a similar situation I’m sure. I hope you get some rest this evening and your dh is able to settle a bit, it must be so confusing for him. Thinking of you x ?
Ann we wouldn't be any kind of friends if we weren't affected by happenings like this. We all feel for you and wish you and your DH well. We will be cheerful again but hope you know that we are here for you what ever our banter.
I hope you enjoy a good meal and a peaceful night. Sleep well and rest.
Hugs and love ann, sounds quite a day. Of course you aren't bringing us down, its what friends are for.
I've just got my head out of photo sorting whic has had me sat all day, well after a very slow start, organising hard copies of photos and also some on the computer. Boy do I ache but its a good feeling to have it done. It isn't finished but the worst is over.
Take care everyone. Back when I can but its a busy old time ahead so if I go quiet I'm fine, just not able to be in the kitchen although I will be lurking somewhere when I can.
ann of course you are not bringing the kitchen down- as others have said you are going through a very rough time at present and it is truly awful for H who does not understand what is going on.
I hope that you have a decent meal and can manage to sleep tonight.
I am so blessed that I feel that all of you are my friends.
My GD has just left, I have her to worry about as well but she is so good to us, she went with him for the
CT scan, she went in the room with him and said she felt he was so vulnerable strapped to the table, at which point she had to leave.
She is in no way academic, she is just a lovely human being.
Her home situation breaks my heart but she is coping and will not have any contact with her mother.
No way are you bringing the kitchen “down”, Ann60
I remember the warmth and comfort you Kitcheners brought me last year.
So sorry to hear your news annsixty. Thinking of you.
ann it is H not comprehending that is so heart breaking. It is bad enough when one does understand the situation. My heart goes out to and for him. You are so lucky having a gem of a GD.
Hope you have a well deserved good nights sleep Ann.
Your GD sounds like a lovely girl and obviously very close to you. I think there is a strong possibility she has inherited her strong coping abilities from her Granny. Sleep well
I seem to have hurt my back strimming yesterday. Just shows that even when you think you're being careful... hey ho. Better get moving so as not to miss my bus. My morning ablutions might take a little longer than usual.
But I just wanted to pop in and see how ann and her DH were getting on. I do hope you had a decent night's sleep last night, ann. Your poor DH sounds very confused, poor man
Hope your back gets sorted soon Baggs we seem to be the only ones awake!?
Morning all, a bad back is not only painful but a frustrating nuisance. I hope it improves Baggs I was hoping for some news of annsixty husband and to let her know I’m thinking of her. I’m off to Lanzarote early tomorrow but I will pop in to keep up with the news when I can, depending on WiFi connections. My sons off to kings today to see the orthopaedic specialist so fingers crossed for him. I’m not as hopeful as him but we will see. Take care all. I think your in for a nice warm week so make the most of it if you can.
Hope you managed to have a good night’s sleep ann and you have some positive news today
Oh Baggs, so easily done when working in the garden. It’s not until the following day you realise you have overworked your body a bit. Taking it easy for a couple of days with some painkillers usually does the trick for me.
Oh dear Baggs you and me both. I have done something to my shoulder lifting stuff while gardening. Not a huge problem in the main scheme of things, but annoying to say the least. BUT at least it has stopped raining and we have blue skies this morning.
May the sunshine bring some solace to those struggling with other things in life
A good, sunny, warmish afternoon dear Kitcheners.
PLEASE never apologise for feeling sad or stressed. We need each other and it's perfectly natural to feel another's pain. When I first opened the kitchen...many moons ago...it was for the purpose of sharing celebratory times AND the rest. Nothing banned, except quarrels and bitchiness. So far, so good.
ann Thank you for keeping us updated. We continue to hope that, with the appropriate treatment, your husband will eventually feel less stressed and confused. An armful of
for you both.
Baggs and Izabella
It's that time of year. We are all vulnerable when we are let loose in the garden. Please take things gently until you are fully fit. I have a new pair of gardening gloves. A gift from a neighbour. Guess where I shall be a little later!
The weather is improving. I do wish that it had been kinder to number and her family.
I had put the lemon drizzle cake and coffee pot ready just in case they called in after visiting Muasdale. By the time I heard the car horn hoot they had passed by. I should have waited at the bottom of the drive (only it was piddling with rain). We therefore were forced to eat a slice of cake on our ownsome. Drat!
Apologies to callgirl1 I had a senior moment and addressed you as you used to be. Forgive me please.
I think that possibly spring has made an appearance because for the first time this year I have hung washing outside on the rotary drier.
I've got washing out today too, charley and I didn't wear my Big Coat when I went out this morning. The trees and hills are not green yet but buds are bursting and the grass is growing, so soooooon!
On the higher hills it's July before they show really green with the bracken.
Yes we too have dried the washing on the line outside today for the first time this year Charley. Feels good!
Thinking of Ann and hoping she has managed to get some rest and that her DH is improving. What a lot she has on her plate and I know we all appreciate that and want to support her as best we can.
Baggs and Izabella I recommend the stick on heat pads for bad backs. I buy them in packs of 12 from Amazon and find them really good.
