Applying for a job

Hi everyone, I'm a 66 year old grandmother of 2 children, a boy of 5 and a girl of 22 months. I've been retired since 2011. Luckily I get on very well with my ddil and I help a lot with the children. I have them on alternate Fridays and see them two or three times a week as well. I'm available if my ddil needs to go to doctor, dentist, and I go in to listen to the children read in school. However, I'm applying for employment. My partner works, so does my son and the lodger, and the house feels empty during the day. What would other grandparents do in this situation? My ddil won't be happy if I'm no longer available to help out, especially as her own mother works long hours.

At 66 and long retired I wouldn't look for a job, I'd fill my life with things that interest me.

Who has the right to work?
You?
Your daughter in law?
I'd say that these the children she chose to have so she is responsible for their arrangements.
You raised your child/ren, now you are not tied in the same way as you were.
