Ha ha! Yes, they are like that at Heathrow and by the time you've realised and gathered together your luggage they've gone off again!

When I told DH he said, 'Good job you didn't press the alarm button or I'd have disowned you and gone and sat in the car.' grin

This made me laugh out loud. Very confusing, those lifts if you are facing the wrong way. Cheered me up no end.

I dragged DH into Dunelm yesterday to buy a roller blind. The loos were on the first floor so I used the lift while he waited on the ground floor. I was the only one in the lift so I pressed the correct button for the floor I wanted.

The lift came to a halt and I heard, 'Doors opening' like you do. Nothing happened. I then heard, 'Doors closing' but they hadn't opened. shock In a panic I pressed the first floor button again and heard, 'Doors opening' but the bloody things were still shut. Pressing it again, I heard, 'Doors closing'.....shock shock which led to more frantic pressings of the button.

I nearly jumped out of my skin when a hand tapped me on the shoulder and a voice said, 'Are you getting out, luv?'

Oh, how embarrassing. blush The lift had two sets of doors and if only I'd had the sense to turn around I'd have seen the bemused customers wondering if it was safe to get in a lift with a mad woman. grin

I think I need to get out more.
