Winter fairy land

Reading the thread about snow phobia really made me think. Thought I had better post this on a new thread, so that those who hate or fear snow don't need to read it.

I love the snow, even when like now, I have to clear our pavement.

The garden is transformed into a fairy land of white snow and bright sunshine.

I can see where the cats have been, and our resident blackbird who knows to keep an eye out for the cats, spent a very snowy night in our front porch, judging by claw marks in the drifted snow. I found a wren hopping around in DH's workshop - it had come in through the open cat-flap! Both cats were in the sitting-room, I am happy to say, so I am keeping the passage door to the work-shop closed.

I think a weasel or stoat had been through the garden too, as the tracks were quite definitely not a cat's.

Our cats weren't very impressed and spent several days pressed up against the central heating vents. We had two robins holding an armed truce while I kept them supplied with meal worms.
