Have you ever been told that you look like anyone famous?
Would you care to share who it is, or was?

Yup. Diane Keaton. Actually it's true except she's well groomed!

Once taken for Diana Rigg by 2 little boys in Oxford Street!

At various times, Anita Manning and Brenda Blethyn. Can’t see either of them myself, but I’m not offended.

Miranda (I wasn't thrilled)

I was once asked by some kids if I was Deirdre Barlow of Corrie. I think it was the big specs!

Tallulah2 Thu 01-Mar-18 11:25:48

Many years ago someone thought I was a dead ringer for Kiri Te Kanawa - could never see it myself! My mum was often told she looked the Queen - and Wendy Craig! I now look like my mum.

In my teens when I had long hair Sandie Shaw and in my twenties when hair was shorter Marie Osmond.
Now I have grey hair I probably look more like Teresa May!

Many moons ago, I was told I looked like Angie from EastEanders and then Doris from Fame ( the TV series)

I had a sketch done of me when I was 18. At that time it was commonplace for aspiring artists to ply their 'trade' in nightclubs to make ends meet. My then partner had his framed and hung in his lavatory and mine was rolled up and lost, over time.
I was wearing an off the shoulder maxi dress and my hair was up in loops as was the fashion.
It bore a striking resemblance to a then member of the wider royal family but nothing much like me.

Frances De La Tour, which didn't impress me very much at the time sadly but now I think she looks very distinguished. The worst one was Olive from 'On The Buses' by a very good friend who caught me out post op in an old dressing gown.

When I was at collage training to be a hairdresser, a professional stylist came to the collage, for models, so he dyed my hair bright Orange ( it looked good, because it was long) then he cut it so short! I couldn't even brush it! (How I cried, after telling him what I thought of him on stage) Going back to collage was a nightmare, we went Ice Skating and a couple of kids took to skating after me, asking " Excuse Miss Toyah ,can I have your autograph please"? That I didn't mind, I like Toyah Wilcox x

My OH is often told he looks like Richard Gere, especially since he went grey. Even in Greece our notary said that! Lucky me.

MawBroon Thu 01-Mar-18 11:41:56

Apparently when Mary McAleese was standing for election in Eire many years ago, her poster up on lampposts looked just like me, (according to the two DDs who were in Dublin with me at the time confused )

Was told I looked like Cilla way back in my teens, then she had a nose job!
During middle age was often likened to Patricia Hodge, I’ll take that.
Now I just look like my mother.

missdeke Thu 01-Mar-18 11:47:29

In my 20s Marianne Faithfull, in my 30s Nina from Nina and Frederick and in my 50s Cheryl Baker! Think maybe I'm just nondescript and it depends on the hairstyle!

Gaggi3 Thu 01-Mar-18 11:51:43

DFiLtold me once I looked like Amy Johnson!
In my forties was likened to Jill Gascoyne (The Gentle Touch).
Last week, having failed to mend the train track twice, said, " What am I like?" to 3yr old DGS. He said, "You're like a gorilla." Serves me right for using that silly expression.

grin well, that's the least flattering one yet!

My husband who is a hairdresser was dying my hair once and decided my eyebrows needed a bit of a dye job as well , he stood back and looked at the effect with the Dye still in place, laughed his socks off and said I looked like Nigel Mansell !

cavewoman Thu 01-Mar-18 12:02:24

Sue Barker and Dusty Springfield.
Although my OH thinks I look like Clare Balding!

Chicklette Thu 01-Mar-18 12:10:05

Many many years ago I was told I looked like the girl in Ladt Tango in Paris. I didn't mind that. These days my loving family tell me I look like Wendolene from Wallace and Gromit ??

BBbevan Thu 01-Mar-18 12:22:03

brunswick Thu 01-Mar-18 12:25:34

In my teens and early twenties: a young Betty Davis (mainly the eyes) - Miss Dianne from Crossroads, one of the blonde Nolan Sisters -forgotten which one. A few years back - Julianne Moore.

Foxyferret Thu 01-Mar-18 12:40:15

I was told I looked like Judith Durham, lead singer of the seekers when I was young. I only wished I had her voice, beautiful.

DanniRae Thu 01-Mar-18 12:43:31

My husband is constantly told that he looks like the racing driver Damien Hill - we can't see it however.

I showed someone my wedding photos recently (taken 48 years ago) and they insisted that I looked like Susan Saradon.
I might have done then but definitely not now.

When I was in Selfridges in London about 40 years ago one of the assistants suddenly shouted "oh my god you're that lead singer from Clout"! She ran round the counter and wouldn't believe that it wasn't me, insisting on an autograph (I wrote my own name) and calling people over. At the time I was slightly offended as I thought the real singer was a bit on the bigger side (at the time I was 5'7 and 8st 4). Looking back I would LOVE to be mistaken for her now. I've shrunk in height to around 5'5 and gained, literally, around 10st! Those were the days! I've just youtubed Clout and it makes me very sad and actually, yes, I did look like her!
