Oh dear, life is seldom uneventful for Kitcheners, many, if not most of you have got more than your share of problems - and then some.
I do wish you a tolerably happy outcome where possible and fortitude where not.
I really should learn not to venture outside (NB this is not a thread about a thread ) but I get so dispirited at the trivia some people elsewhere on GN seem to get exercised about and the inflexible,, intolerant, black and white attitudes I am encountering, I could weep , but not after shouting “For heavens sake count your blessings and if x,y,z is the worst thing to happen to you, you are blankety, blank lucky”
There, that feels better!

This is the corner of the room in which I've randomly stored the paintings. All are covered with cellophane.

I sat looking long and hard at the last young fox portrait. I have done a little more work on it. I'm a little happier. Here it is.

Ann Your husband's condition does appear to worsening since he left hospital. You are doing all that is humanly possible to enable him to feel comfortable and secure. I wish that I hug you right this moment.

I'm ignoring your post Jane - it's making me shudder! I think we arranged Mum's funeral without the certificate and just hoped we would have it in time. We still waited over 3 weeks.

I love custard tarts and discovered a place in Suffolk that sells GF ones. I was so excited that I ate two very quickly and felt rather poorly afterwards. I also like eclairs and profiteroles!

Anyway, must do those two phone calls before I go to have a pedicure.

Harri how very anxious you and your DH must be. I know how that feels. A similar thing happened - suspected heart attack - to my SiL four days before my grandson was born. He was 37! They fitted him with stents and although he has to have regular check ups and take a lot of medication he now runs marathons! I hope they get to the bottom of your DS’s condition and put him on the road to recovery.
morethan I am very pleased that there is good news about your DiL. I hope there will be similarly hopeful news about your son too!

I need a reviving cuppa, or maybe something stronger. Had a text this morning to say that DS had spent the night in A&E with a suspected cardiac event. I left him at 8 o'clock last night and he appeared fine.
DH has just rung me to say that tests have ruled out a heart attack.

Good to hear from you morethan, a little less to worry about for now with your daughter in law. I’m currently struggling with one of ours so I understand your struggles with your daughter just a little bit.

Imagine a mixed weekend ahead ann, I’m amazed the physio hasn’t realised how poorly your husband is.

Good news in deed morethan I follow the news of your Dil with a special interest.
I hope your S also gets some help from his consultation.
My D and two GC are arriving this afternoon (plus dog) and are going to see a huge change in D and GD.
His dementia is so advanced since they saw him in Dec.
My friend took me shopping yesterday to get food in for the weekend and when I got back a leaflet from the NHS physio dept with names and info were on the coffee table. He knew nothing about it.
My S who was in the kitchen came to me and said a physio had been, stayed for half an hour, discussed his progress, did some simple exercises with him and told my S someone will arrange with me to come in regularly to get him completely " outdoor mobile".
He had no recollection of anyone coming or what had happened, all within 30/40mins. He was already in his pyjamas as he had been since 11am at his insistence, he needed to be ready for the carers who will come at 11am today.

I’m sorry I haven’t dropped in for a while. I’ve had a bit a bother with my daughter. I don’t cope with her problems well. Probably because they’ve been going on so long and are mostly of her own making. She moves from one crisis to another. Plus I’m sick of my own moaning. My DiL had good news from her specialist saying things are the same and there’s no deterioration in her condition. Youngest boy off to see a orthopaedic trauma surgeon in kings soon So that’s good and what with the change in clocks I might just pull myself together and cheer up. Oops two little voices, time for sausages ( only at nanna’s) tea and the school run. Have a good day all. If I’ve missed any thing I’m sorry I’ll try to catch up soon.

Hope you manage to get the wildlife safely evicted from your loft jane .I remember reading about a chap who tried to corner a squirrel in his loft and it actually went for him! Apparently quite a few people end up in A and E with squirrel bites.
We went to stay in a cottage in Ardnamurchan which had a family of pine martens in the loft. Disappointingly, the mother carried the babies out into the forest the day we arrived. We never saw the babies but the mother used to come for raw eggs and pieces of bread and jam which we put out for her.

Are squirrels nocturnal? Can’t sleep because DH’s pump is whistling so in another bedroom. We have either got big squirrels or a lodger in the loft! Time for a rat man I think - although the last one put his foot through the bedroom ceiling ...

I can’t believe (except of course I do) the hassle and stress you bereaved people are suffering.
Heaven knows it was bad enough when everything went smoothly.

The birthday celebrations continue...cards from the Brum DGCs arrived today, their mummy had forgotten them on Saturday. I had noticed but unlike my poor dear Mum who could take umbrage at the slightest thing, I decided seeing their little faces was much more important!
And then this afternoon at Book Club my friends surprised me with scones, cake, fizz, flowers and a personalised card. If you can see it, look carefully at the bottom right hand corner. And on the back. Needless to say I cried. Bless them!

Evening All. Hanging my head in shame again, just can’t run fast enough to catch up properly. Funny old day for me, and not the amused sort if you know what I mean.

Oh dear, jane and pittcity, the delays can be very difficult, especially navigating bureaucracy. Look after yourselves.

Not liking the sound of that fleece, greyd, I would be returning it and asking for a refund.

Need to whisper this one - I don’t like custard tarts or any variation of them. Took my ma-in-law ages to get over the shock, I am told her custard tarts were to die for. She made me profiteroles and eclairs instead, I was happy .

We'd better stay where we are

JaneD3 we are in the middle of a 5 week wait for MIL's funeral. There was also a wait for the doctor's signature and then a wait for an appointment with the registrar. It's not an easy time.

Charley I hope you are going to tell us more about your experience than that they were "posh"
We are very nosy.

Oh my goodness charley were they that posh ? How am I going to cope when I go next week. I hope there are some nice friendly sorts where I am going.
