What makes you feel virtuous?

I could have gone shopping this afternoon but decided to stay in and clear up masses of paperwork [halo]
However, I have just looked on GN so

I never feel virtuous. When I complete one task I am only too aware that there are another 10 on the To Do list. I try to live by the mantra that 'Good Enough gets more done', but there is no satisfaction in doing things that are less than perfect.

Clearing out the cupboards, cleaning the windows inside, and doing the ironing.

With you grandMattie except my homework is Dutch. Making it to the gym to swim before 06.30. Clearing my wardrobe into junk and charity bags. Cleaning the oven. I’d love to feel virtuous about losing weight.?

Writing thank you letters, or dreadful task, letters of condolence - hideous to do, but I found I really appreciated the time and effort others had put in to them following bereavements in our family.

How have you managed to lose the weight? I’m weighing in at 10st 7lb far far too heavy for my height, vertically challenged!!

All of the above but most satisfying is a line full of washing, especially when it’s white for some reason.
What a lovely idea Frannytoo, that’s given me food for thought. That deserves feelings of virtuosity.

Waking up after an alcohol free evening!

Emptying the kitchen scraps bucket into the compost bin in the garden. I just drove my daughter and grandson to the station and told them I would empty the bucket as soon as I got home. Well I’m reading Gransnet, drinking a cup of coffee and eating buttered toast. But I swear I will do it before they get back....

Cleaning out the shower trap. For a few days I notice the water is not going down so I steel myself to pull it up and clean the black gunk that lodges there. Yuck I hate it, but love to see the water swirling down afterwards.

Cooking several dishes in the oven not just one! Inviting several lonely or difficult neighbours for a meal.

I feel virtuous as I've got down to 9st 7lbs at long last (7lbs to go to get to my target) - but I mustn't celebrate by buying a big cake, packet of crisps, scones, etc - but they're very tempting.
I felt good t'other day as I learnt how to put some contacts into a group for emailing - but was brought back down to earth today when for some reason I had to put in a new password to access emails. Annoying or what?
And of course I feel good after doing any housework at all as I hate most of it.

If only JoyBloggs. Dusting will have to wait another time...

Being able to tick any one thing completely off my 'to do' list and particularly if it's a long standing item. Don't know if virtuous is accurate since my list includes many pathetic and feeble requirements but the feel good factor certainly abounds for the rest of the day. I really do need to have a serious word with myself regarding this list!

Being patient with OH when his anxiety is eating up my life - today I failed - tomorrow I will do better.
