How do you keep your screens clean ?

I seem to have exceptionally clean hands so my iPad screen never gets very smudgy and when it gets a bit so I buff it with a dry cotton cloth (hankie). I think the clean hands thing is partly down to having very dry skin.

I have a screen protector on mine which keeps the original screen in pristine condition. I also use spec wipes on the protector which keep it clean and use a screen pen, not fingers, to operate iPad. I find they are much better, no grotty finger marks.

Laughed to myself when I read NanKate's thread as before logging onto Gransnet I decided my screen needed cleaning. I sprayed it with a a product called Screen Clean then wiped it with a paper towel. Brought it up lovely.

Antiseptic wipes seem like the answer if children are sneezing over the screen, and not using tissues to sneeze into!

Today I used a wipe for a small job and it was not dirty so I decided to give the computer key board and screen a clean - DH just come in complaining that since I cleaned the key board the machine keeps wanting him to sign up for iTunes!

Oh radical, have you forgotten the reason the only people on the new planet were hairdressers and telephone sanitisers after the intergalactic superhighway blasted Earth out of existance in THHGTTG ? Because everyone who was "useful" stayed on earth, had some terrible bug due to "unsanitised" telephones and died...

Am I the only person on here who doesn't worry about germs on everything? I wouldn't say that our house is particularly mucky but I don't go round looking for bugs trapped in crevices. Our GSs are the children who get the 100% attendance certificates at school and seem to have aquired resistance to most germs.
If my phone screen is dirty I wipe it on my sleeve or trouser leg.

I don't know how some people risk having drinks or meals out. Do they wipe their cutlery down before they use it?

I don't really, but I find filthy dirty screens replusive.

Eyeglass cleaner and a microfiber cloth leaves it like new! I spray the liquid on the cloth and then give it a thorough wipe. I turn it off and then do the keys (yep, one at a time).

Buy proper screen wipes . If you have touch screens they get in a dreadfil mess.
You do need to scrape the chip fat off your fingers first though.
I am not too fussy about dirty screens.

Oldgoat you are not alone in not looking for extra things to clean. Both my kids practically lived outdoors in the garden, in the mud, messing with animals (occasionally remembering to wash their hands ) & eating worms/snails (I know excellent parenting skills me). They are both fit healthy adults, rarely sick same as me. I work on a shared computer and God knows if any of the other staff remember to regularly wash hands but I haven't caught anything life threatening yet. I also clean my screens on my jeans/sweater and they've had numerous pets climbing/sitting on them

Wish supermarkets would have wipes for their trolley handles nearby. Sometimes they’re wet or feel damp and you never know if the last person using it was the one who didn’t wash their hands in the toilet. Strangely enough I’ve never been bothered about bugs before, we have a 10 second rule for dropped food in our house, but recently sticky trolley handles brought me up sharp ?

It's irrelevant what I clean my iPad with as I use a lot of hand cream for my super dry hands. I don't care what they look like but DO hate it when they stop working!

I’m with you Oldgoat, during a lifetime you need to eat a peck of dirt. But I must admit, I am being indoctrinated by all the adverts for clean wipes, etc. Environmentally they are hard to dispose of and take years to breakdown.
