How lovely! I do like to see people wearing things they really like, in nice colours.

I didn't know about this eccentric streak when we married but over the last ten years what started with one slightly lively patterned number that received much attention, he added to his collection and they became more and more patterned. Always good quality and not unpleasant but nothing like his personality. He then bought a pink suit! We host a quiz nite twice a year at work and he is on the microphone so thought it would be fun to stand out. Long story short, he buys one each time. He now has purple, sky blue with clouds on, yellow, red and Christmas wrapping pattern. He wears them well, he is very tall and fit so doesn't look a Pratt but he is so quiet and unassuming that people are really taken aback!

I tumble dry all smalls and socks. Anything shrinkable I hang on hangers to dry. When dry I give each a few minutes in the tumble drier, then whip out and put back on hangers. Works a treat.

I tumble dry my cotton bedlinen so its smooth and a joy is sleeping in a freshly changed bed.

Most clothes just need hanging properly when drying then put away. I do however have a few everyday cotton summer dresses that need ironing. Its a rare pleasure now....

I have now gone nearly 7 weeks without ironing because of a broken wrist. As I'm living in easy to pull on clothes(no buttons or zips and wide sleeves ) it hasn't really been a problem and I have learned how to carefully hang clothes so they don't look too crumpled BUT I feel unironed and crumpled.
Never thought I would say this but I can't wait to iron and I hate it!

I don't do a lot of ironing these days, but used to enjoy it when the children were small. DH does his shirts and hankies, ( yes I know) but he takes ages. Perhaps it's because he watches Babylon 5 while doing it. Since I discovered Waitrose Ironing Water, it's got better. (Passion Flower and Green Tea) if you were wondering.

I never ironed school uniforms. Poly-cotton shirts, carefully hung up to dry, simply didn’t need it. My children looked as tidy (or not) as their friends.

Each Sunday I iron for about 2 hours..love it. I find it very relaxing and I iron everything. A freshly made up bed is truly the best thing ever. I adore good weather as I have a 40ft clothes line and could watch the clothes blowing in the wind. My Dil thinks I am crazy.

My D & DiL dont iron and the GC definitely look crumpled. I don t iron their clothes though unless I wash them then I just HAVE to! Can't bear to put away or wear crumpled clothes. Funnily enough I don't iron bedding though , except pillow cases. But I do iron my pyjamas!

Used to hate ironing when I had loads to do and a very grotty iron. Now with only two of us and a steam generating iron I dont really mind, as long as there is a good "ironing play" on Radio 4.

I have found that the older I get, the less inclined I am to doing ironing. I only iron DH's uniform, and sometimes then only the trousers. I try to buy clothes that don't need ironing. I only iron duvet covers etc if I've forgotten to get them out of the drier.

Oh I can't stand putting away. I go to ridiculous lengths to avoid it, probably making myself more hard work by moving it from place to place.

I'm another who doesn't mind ironing. Just finished a load. There's some satisfaction in it. I did my mother's when she was alive, and often do both DDs'. I hate putting it away though!

Grecian girl I do what mothers do when their child is ill ,8 bags isn't ALL her ironing ,sometimes her bedding is changed daily and the kids at least twice a week.one is a bed wetter .It adds up .Honestly ,I'd iron all day every day if it would make her well .She'd never be a rod for my back ,she's a wonderful caring woman who is having a very tough time

I iron on Sunday mornings to the Archers omnibus. I like ironing so it’s not a chore and I even do some of DD’s ( mostly DGD’s school clothes). But I have a friend who irons nothing and she never looks crumpled so there’s obviously a knack which you non-ironers have mastered.

I used to spend all of Sunday afternoon ironing, up to 15 shirts, plus all the Tshirts, jeans, bedding, etc. But my DIL showed me the way and nothing gets ironed. So, now I iron only about once a fortnight, just a couple of shirts for DH if necessary. I think her way is best, but I would like to see the GC a bit more pressed sometimes.

I'm in the pro ironing brigade, love freshly laundered and ironed bedding. But does anyone else have the urge to iron their grandchildren's clothes when their non ironing mummy (and daddy) drop them off for the day.

I used to iron everything..... and when I retired I stopped. Most of it is tumble dried, so doesn't need it! I learnt from my daughter who irons about I garment in 20... when I asked her about it she said "life's too short to peel a grape mum" .... Do you know she's right. She has two kids who wear informs and NO tumble dryer , she said ironing is a none sense and finally ive got the message . Me and her agree... it's weddings and funeral shirts only! Too many books to read to bother with useless wasteful 'housewifery' crap.

I can't believe how many people iron bedding, It must take ages. I would think it a waste of time, but each to your own. Unironed fitted sheets smooth out once they are on the bed, as do duvet covers and pillow cases.

Each to their own. I have a walk-in closet cum laundry room....my favourite space in the house as I listen to audio books whilst ironing or sewing... very theraputic.

I hate ironing, duvet & pillowcase are ironed, I wear jeggins mostly which don't need ironing. In summer I have more ironing, shorts, shirts & blouses.

Why would anyone iron towels? It flattens the pile
