Yesterday or today, which ever you believe is Imbolc.
Here's a poem or prayer to St. Bridgit to celebrate the beginning of new life.

All the land is wrapped in winter. The air is chilled and Frost envelops the Earth. But Lord of the Sun, Horned One of animals and wild places, Unseen you have been reborn Of the gracious Mother Goddess, Lady of all fertility. Hail Great God! Hail and welcome!

It's also Groundhog Day, when the marmot emerges from his burrow. If it's sunny and he sees his shadow he will go back in and there will be six more weeks of winter!

I read this in today’s DT

If Candlemas be dry and bright
Winter will have another bite.
If Candlemas be grey and rain,
Winter will not come again.

And yes, it is dry and sunny today!
