Niggles and smiles.

Rosie, so many of my knives have flat ends,he has a whole workshop full of tools and yet my lovely kitchen knives are always the ones that get used, WHY???.

Mercedes yes sugar, every morning he takes a teaspoon to coffee machine 9 inches away (yes I measured it) and always manages to knock some of spoon which creates a gritty surface. It's just not necessary

MaggieMay my OH does that too! I tell him that he’s wasteful as kitchen roll has to be thrown away whereas a plate which is washed and reused. And when wiping things he will always take several sheets of kitchen roll when he knows we started buying decent quality stuff so one (not the Juan one) sheet would do the job.

My DH will make himself toast, but never uses a plate, instead he will get a piece of kitchen roll and use that and then leave all of the crumbs and the piece of used kitchen roll on the worktop...and it is funny how he can remember where the toaster lives but cannot remember to put it back! Drives me Mad!!!

He always makes me a cuppa after our evening meal and is a good fixer of anything! May take a bit of time but he will do it.

ps are my kitchen scissors behind your tv by any chance?

Plenty of drawers in the house Jalima but it wouldn’t matter. In the drawer in the hall table I keep a really handy little tool, in its box. It is super wee gadget - a little brass hammer and its handle unscrews several times to reveal decreasing in size small screwdrivers. I bought it and kept it hidden for my use as he always ‘lost’ every screwdriver and I could never find one when it was needed. I eventually revealed that I had this and he uses it frequently (in fact last time I went to use it only the top half was there and the screwdriver parts were missing. Eventually found behind the tv where he had been using it.)

We're lucky enough to have a utility room so DH has a couple of drawers in there with rubbish screwdrivers and other assorted bits and pieces which he might need handy instead of trekking out to the garage.
Have you got a spare drawer he could use? or one of those plastic toolboxes with a handle to keep somewhere?

the drawers aren't really spare btw - I have to keep tablecloths etc upstairs as there isn't a spare drawer downstairs for them!

However, he does seem to have misappropriated my kitchen scissors, hope they haven't ended up like your knife Rosieroe

This! Bottom one is (was) my favorite knife from my Sabatier knife set which OH used instead of a screwdriver. He was told off and reminded about the boxes of tools in the garage (and the little screwdriver I keep indoors). The top one is the replacement knife. It took me some time to find one to match the set. I’ve just used it and have found the tip is bent which can only mean that he has been at it again! ?

Someone in this house follows me round, saying 'you have a letter from 'junk so and so', then, when getting no response, files it in my in tray (where it could stay for weeks!)
Ditto with important mail too

Somebody in this house insists on opening obvious junk mail, reading it out loud when somebody else is trying to concentrate (on Gransnet), then putting it neatly back in the envelope and down onto the nearest surface, where it could stay forever, instead of whizzing it straight into the recycling.

But the good news is, my February GN Book Club book has arrived!

Have you seen the price of them Jalima ?! It will be one only ( if I’m lucky.) ? but it may produce a lot of fruit,

Well my niggles are two excruciatingly painful whitlows on my fingers . Wanting to cry with the throbbing pain.

Just put my house back in order after a lovely mad evening with DD and 3 GC. Priceless but shattered now haha.

Was just thinking this Gypsyqueen13, but now always tell my friends 'treasure them whilst you've got them', but to be fair I was exactly the same, and used to moan and tell all and sundry that 'he did my head in'. Wish he still did! My smile is my 4 Grand kids ranging from 23, 16, 15 and 11, they're comical when they can be surgically removed from their phones.

DH now working in the garden on something we planned ( a year ago, but what the heck.) ?
