* Anything directed by Frank Capra and starring Jimmy Stewart.

I`ve enjoyed many films, can`t pick just one. I`ve loved all the Rodgers and Hammerstein musicals, and some brilliant black and white movies, among them
Dark Victory with Bette Davis,
I`ll Cry Tomorrow, Susan Hayward,
Imitation of Life, Lana Turner, a real tearjerker.

Absolutely the original Ben Hur with Charlton Heston for me .. I loved all the religious films' like The Robe and Quo Vadis, and will still watch them if I can.
Ben Hur has everything. Romance, adventure., history, the extraordinary chariot race . Wonderful.

To Kill A Mockingbird ,loved Gregory Pack in it
The Way We Were ,Sreisand and Redford when they were at their peak ..and the theme tune was terrific too

Does anyone remember the film about the Red Balloon? loved it?

The Way We Were is my absolute favourite but I also love Singin' in the Rain and Calamity Jane and a few others. However we recently watched Goodbye Christopher Robin and it is creeping up as a close second to The Way We Were. It was wonderful.

Beaches with Bette Midler. High Society. White Christmas and dare I say it Mama Mia always cheers me up more for the music than the plot.

Death in Venice starring Dirk Bogard. The sadness, the music, the acting, the location.

Titanic... the one with Kate Winslet.

But overall, I think if I had to choose just one favourite, it would have to be Life Is Beautiful. If you haven't seen this, please do try and watch it.

And yes, farview, I remember The Red Balloon, it was always a favourite when I was a child, just magical.

More recently, I would have to add What We Did On Our Holiday - Billy Connelly at his absolute best.

A couple of months ago I saw an old black and white film on tv called "Bang! You're Dead". It starred Jack Warner and was about a couple of young boys who had found a gun and, thinking it was only a toy, fired it and killed a man. The music to the film was sung by Edmund Hockridge. I think it was from the early 1950s. It was a brilliant film; one I'd never seen or heard of before. Has anyone else seen this, or remember it?

Loved that Billy Connolly one two, can't pick a favourite but I enjoy the ones I used to watch with my children over and over so that might be why I liked them.
