New Hull attraction

Was Charles I the king after whom the town was called Kingston upon Hull? If it was the king's town (granted a burgh by him?), then barring him would be doubly significant.

Has he moved - or was he on holiday?

It may not be anti-Brexit. It could be a play on the fact that Hull raised it's drawbridge against Charles I. The first action of the Civil War.

It would appear that someone didn't like it. It wasn't covered in graffiti like the first reports said. Someone had painted white paint all over it. Common consensus is that it was someone who was offended by it's apparent anti-Brexit theme. I can't see it being the local scallies because they'd have tagged it.

The council have now put perpex over it to protect it in the short term whilst they organise a more permanent form of protection.

Such a pity that this was vandalised with paint vq but pleased that someone managed to restore it, and I see that they have put a protective plastic cover over it now. Bankyside great idea . I love Hull.
