Wonderful news! Isn’t it lovely that nature can still surprise when youngsters these days like to think they can plan it all absolutely.

I’m so happy for you. It’s wonderful isn’t it. I’ve just spent an afternoon in monsoon with our ‘bonus baby’ who’s 6 in a few days trying on glittery dresses for her party. How very lucky are we. Congratulations to you and all your family.

I have just realized that I did actually start the clear-out of baby things just before Christmas, taking some toys to the charity shop. While I don't really believe for one minute that it had anything to do with our wonderful news, it's still well worth a try :-)

As it's your first free day since hearing the news gilly I can imagine you scouring the shops for tiny garments etc.

OMG. Yesterday I said I was going to clear out all the baby things to see if it worked the same magic for our son/dil, , and tonight I have been presented with a 14 week scan photo. I too am on cloud nine now )))

Thank you for your good wishes Eglantine. No it is my son and daughter in law who have the three children (the youngest 2 have a very long commute to/from school after we lost all the appeals to get them into a school close to home).
This will be my DD’s first baby after being told ( and accepting ) that she would probably never conceive.

This year will see 2 new babies in my family one in April and one in May (pink one).
We can all share our baby news at about the same time its so exciting.

gilly, others obviously know you well. Is this the daughter with the school run problem or another one?

Thank you again everyone for all your lovely messages of congratulations. My DD and her partner are still in complete shock. The midwife told her she is having a “fast track” pregnancy !

So happy for you Gilly. My daughter had problems getting pregnant the first time. Now she's on her third with only 17 months between them all!
