What’s your ‘thing’?

Oh God! I just told myself off for buying another top!! My DH passed away last year and his cupboard is now full of my new tops...I keep saying "that's it now" but if I see something cute, in cotton....My family are getting worried. Hopefully its only a phase?? Part of grieving I tell myself. Help!

Books of all different kinds - cookery, fiction, (of many different genres), non-fiction. (autobiographies, information books, bird books to name a few). Yes, definitely books! ?

Scarves.... British Heart Foundation shops always have wonderful ones. Oh and I like 'statement' necklaces.

My downfall is fabric. I have stacks of materials and I cannot resist buying more. If I was eager to sew it it wouldn’t be so bad but I fear spoiling it with my limited sewing skills!

I have lots of books on the ecnomics of football (nothing to do with money) Russian and American politics, the oil industry...and cooking and I'm a sucker for nice kitchenware but finding a splayed s/s sauté pan at a reasonable cost is proving difficult. I don't like non-stick pans.
Bedlinen, pretty lingerie and lighting are on the list too...plain white bedlinen and lots of pillows. I did splash the cash on a quilted satin throw in blush/nude in M&S's recent sale. I won't talk about my shoe collection housed in a leather and metal steamer trunk and wrapped in reams of tissue paper with a photo on each pair. I like heels. ??

I use them for all sorts. At present I'm using six scarves as curtain tie backs. All different but in toning shades of sage-y greens.

Never get dressed without my lippy and esrrings. From good earrings to Asda earrings. Love to browse costume jewellery earrings.

Kindle books are always my go to and I filter them to be at least a 4* and above rating.

Pieces of ribbon and lace, scraps of fabric. To hand pictures on the wall, and a piece of fabric tied around any container and tied with ribbon/lace can make a lot hold etc to coordinate with a room's decor.

One man's rubbish is another's treasure. ;)

Yes, lipsticks and perfume, love them both. And books! Our library often has book sales and ,even though I use my Kindle every day, when there’s a book sale I always come out with a huge bag full. I do share them around my sisters though, so it’s really a form of recycling !

And how could I have forgotten BOOKS! I've loads of books on the Victorians and artists of that era in particular.

Tins. I love tins, especially if they have a tactile, raised surface - bas relief maybe I can call it. M&S do nice ones, at Christmas in particular. Other providers are available.

How odd...so do I. They have a shelf all to themselves in the bathroom and I even have some, still ribbon wrapped, in a chest of drawers along with small towels which go in the downstairs 'cloakroom'.

So many things ... knitting shops, knitting websites, knitting magazines, patterns especially vintage ones (hence the stash in my spare room), the kind of paperback books they sell cheaply in supermarkets (hence the pile by the side of the bed), this blooming laptop and the internet generally and, randomly, those instant mocha things in sachets. What started out as an occasional elevenses treat is now my drink of choice.

My thing is cookery books too. I have loads always buy more but there could always be THAT recipe in the next book!

Ever since childhood I have loved stationary. I still do. Books and more books plus I must have at least 500 unread books on my kindles. I have always loved crafts,knitting and sewing but find it difficult to get knitting wool here. Most of my spare time now is taken up with doing giant sudokus which I print off from the internet. I have even tried lots of different papers to find the best to print them on. Same with mechanical pencils which last so much longer now I can get the push on rubber ends to use after the rubber has worn down. I have so many new pencils that I have told my DH to give them to the children at the local school if anything happens to me. I know, I should get a life....

Horses! Not actually horses but anything to do with them, rugs, girths, boots, bits (lots), so many things I just need terribly for my funny little horse. Am not rich btw n don't buy beauty stuff or clothes (would be wasted on me anyway, ha ha). Sure there are some horsey grans on here who know this guilty pleasure?... n long-suffering other halves too...

Another one DH. Christmas puddings (miniatures). We have 21 in the cupboard.

Oh dear!
1. My iPad is practically surgically attached to my hand.
2. Property programmes and websites (although I've lived in this house for thirty years and have no intention of moving short of a major health crisis for one of us).
3. Cushions - colourful linen prints at the moment.
4. Scarves - I have a collection that I started fifty plus years ago.

I've lost interest in books sadly (internet surfing means my concentration span has been decimated) so have had a book cull.

I love fabric because patchwork is my thing. Also books, books, books. Can't imagine living without them.

I'm learning to crochet and I'm 'hooked', it is very therapeutic and takes my mind off my arthritic aches and pains.

Books wool and any pretty bits of material to make cusions and throws or just to look at. Mainly charity shop stuff. I didnt realise i was no different to many other people. I just like to collect and re use.
