I've got a Gransnet pen courtesy of Katek and Elegran and I'm a Sassenach!

And we are working on the GN mugs (so we nicked MN's in the meantime) We <may> have the odd GN tea towel still floating about...we will have a dig around and see what we can find

Nothing about the main site is changing - worry not. If you are a Facebook fan then do join us for any live interviews we may be doing. If you're not, everything here will be as is. There is a link to our interview with Dr Chatterjee on the home page...but it is clearly labelled as a Facebook interview so easily avoided if desired grin

So far!

It's only local that is being merged into the main forum. The local web pages are disappearing.
GN is just using all popular forms of social media to get itself seen as it is advertising that pays to keep it going.
There will still be Q&A on the forums as before and there is no need to join Facebook, Twitter or Instagram if you don't want to.

I hope they don’t push us onto Facebook. My favourite fishery used to put all its information on its own website - plain, straightforward information - and then all of a sudden you are redirected onto their Facebook site which I hate. The site is now full of idiots struggling to be seen behind the monster fish they have caught! Jealous? Me? Of course I am!

Hi mcem, Our local organiser mentioned, just this morning, changes that are afoot in the way GN is delivered but I didn't really understand. Hmm...

No. But did wonder why the Q&A format had changed. Can't help wondering if it's another way of pushing us towards Facebook.
With the closure of local sites, perhaps in future FB will be the only platform for GN.
If this is in the pipeline I'd like to think that maybe this time we might be consulted before having unpopular changes foisted on us.
Just a shot in the dark for now!

I watched the recording of Dr Rangan Chatterjee's live chat promotion of his book. On the table, facing the camera were two mugs with the MumsNet logo! Where were the GN mugs? I'd buy a GransNet mug. Would you?
