I returned from a couple of weeks away to find a card from Amazon through the door. It had no date or other information written on but the 'We left it in the safe place you told us about.' section was ticked. Underneath was written 'Inside of the Bin'.
There it was, a gift from a relative, nestling on household refuse (bagged, luckily)!
Also luckily my neighbour hadn't put my bin out for collection. The contents were all right but I thought I'd better tell Amazon CS lest other deliveries ended up in landfill or the incinerator. Any one of my hear neighbours would have accepted the package, we're in a small terrace.
The first CS claimed to be unable to help me because I hadn't ordered the item. When I explained that I hadn't she hung up on me. Then I tried again and got a wonderful patient efficient man who courteously sorted out the situation. I commended him to his supervisor who said he was the example that the supervisor hoped all the staff emulated.
Maybe some other firms should outsource their CS to Jamaica!
