Very annoying people

For DH's birthday in August, the children bought us lunch on a local steam railway which, due to one thing and another, we have only just been able to take.

We had a lovely meal and a very nostalgic ride on the line that DH used to get to school when he was a boy even passing close to his house which was on Station Road.

But, one woman on the table next to us had the most annoyingly loud voice possible. It was so loud that it made it impossible for Dh and I to have a conversation of our own. We heard all about her upcoming holidays, the hotels in London where she has had afternoon tea and what she thought of the staff, the latest shows she's been to, the last 4 cruises she went on. And, she continually said 'You know what I mean'.

Towards the end of our meal DH and I were having difficulty keeping a straight face but it did rather spoil DH's birthday treat and we will have to be a bit economical with the truth as far as the children are concerned.

Sorry, rant over, I feel better now.

What sort of people do you find annoying?

People who borrow my books then don't return them or even worse smoke whilst reading grrrr

Oh well done. People yapping inanely on their mobiles on trains is my top pet hate too. OK, it's nice for them to chat to their friends but when they have the same conversation about 20 times over, it gets very tedious indeed. And why so loud? They're not shouting across a crowded bar or a club, for goodness sake ...

It grinds my gears when someone asks if they can borrow something from me and then I have to constantly ask for it back before it's eventually returned; usually in poor condition. The last item was a Nigella Lawson recipe book that was lent to a friend in September and returned, last week, with food stains all over the pages. at least she used it, I suppose

I was really annoyed at my grand-daughter's Christmas concert which was held in her nursery class (she is 3 years of age.)
I sat in a row where the first two seats had been "booked". When the woman concerned came to sit down she was huge.
I am a size 14, she spent the whole time sitting with part of her behind on my leg! I just glared at her but did not say anything.
I did wonder why she had n't sat at the end and allowed her husband to sit next to me as he was of normal size.
Anyway, rant over.
